You know me and water towers, of course!!! I fell in love with them again, all over NYC.
Picturit: I know the feeling, I have the same thing. There is something about water towers. I might even want to live in them, make a condo out of them smile
Astrid.
It's a wonderful image of a very old wooden water tower Astrid... you are still on my side of the pond... i hope that you and Ginnie had a ball on your holiday....petersmile
Picturit: Thank you Peter, we had a blast and it still is not over yet smile
Astrid.
An interesting find. Looking forward to more of your holiday pix when you get back too.
Picturit: They will come, I have a large file to pick from.
I love these water towers. Landmarks from the Big Apple.
Astrid.
Such a great color combination! Love, love, love water towers!!
Picturit: Robin, the moment I am in the Big Apple and I see the water towers, I know I landed in the right spot.
I LOVE those landmarks.

This works really well, Astrid.
Picturit: Thanks Ray, it does look different, mostly you see them as a silhouette.
Astrid.

Picturit: I happen to line up and got the shot.

This is an excellent photographic find and well shot.
Picturit: Thank you kindly Louis. I always try to find something special. Being in New York, ik kwam ogen tekort, zoals gewoonlijk smile
Astrid.
Different..... But nice
Picturit: Thank you, I like different smile
Astrid.
I like the co-habiting old and new - fine shot Astrid! smile
Picturit: In New York, I am always amazed what still stands and what is new smile
Astrid.
Something uniquely American about these things Lady P
Picturit: I know Bill, more American you cannot get grin smile
Astrid.
nice tower here, I like how it stands out against the background
Picturit: Thank you, I am always impressed with the Sky scrapers..... they make great backgrounds smile
Astrid.
Haha, I like your idea of converting water towers to condos, Astrid. They would have to install elevators for us Seniors, though, as I really can't see myself going up and down a ladder several times a day.

Shooting the watertower against the backdrop of a contrasting modern building was another great idea. Love it!
Picturit: I know, but wouldn't it be great, there is room enough and we just make a few windows..... don't you love to day dream about that smile
New York does something for me, the Skyscrapers, the watertowers. We stayed at the Upper West Side near 75th Street, amazing area.
We walked the High Line http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/High_Line_%28New_York_City%29 phase one and two. Absolute fabulous, we were there the golden hour.
Astrid.
What an unusual find, it must be very old.
Picturit: The water towers are old BUT very sturdy and still in use, they get weather beaten, however the inside is well preserved.

I thought that this was the Astrid spaceship standing on the launch pad. Then I read that it is a water tower, very strange indeed.
Picturit: This is a space ship, tomorrow night I will say: Beam me up, Scotty' and we will be in Hollandshire 9 hours later......
