may I come in and disappear into your world of fogs?
Picturit: You are more than welcome, sometimes we need this fog to focus on the now and not worry about the future......we cannot see into the future which is maybe for the best.
Have a nice weekend.

I like it very much the grass looks as if it has ice on it.Enjoy the weekend Aussie and I are working
Picturit: tongue I wished I was working too...wink
There was ice on the grass, it made that wonderful crunching sound when I walked the fields...pure delight...even in the cold, it warmed me inside.
I do hope you have a nice weekend despite the work...

I love the icy grass. I can almost hear it crunching as you are walking around to get this shot. I still am enjoying these shots of your polder!
Picturit: That sound is wonderful, because of the fog all the sounds are muffled, I thought I heard my heartbeat.......so quiet...so at peace...so....wonderful.
Even this picture could not really show it, it is even more beautiful.
Maybe next week I might post one or two...not sure yet....I have some other things that needs my attention more.
Hope you enjoy your weekend.

Crisp and welcoming...

I would love to take a long jog [one of the world's great pleasures] through the gate and into the world beyond.

Beautiful image, again, Astrid.
Picturit: You are more than welcome, we will have a whole bunch that want to come...we might be surprised what we see in the world beyond...Ray...I will let you know what I might find.....
Thank you as always.

THIS is the polder. THIS is freedom. THIS is the invitation to live Life, not knowing what it has to offer you but knowing you can trust it to Someone who knows, loves and cares for you enough to watch you walk through that "door" and never look back. THIS is when Jesus says to the paralytic, "Take up your mat and walk!"

The Mother of all Likeys for me, lieve vriend!
Picturit: 'Take up your mat and walk'.....these words say it all, don't look back, walk on tall through that door and face the world with confidence, be confident, be honest, we cannot look into the future, future is like fog....we never know what might come up unexpectedly, however, hold on to every opportunity given and learn from that on the path into the unknown.....
and be happy with even the smallest results.
I am more than pleased that you made this a likey, lieve vriend.
Enjoy you weekend.

I can imagine the silence, and the cold fresh air. Wonderful! (:o)
Picturit: It was pure magic these few hours that it lasted.
Thank you and please enjoy your weekend.

Het is duidelijk dat B&W goed werkt voor deze foto's.

".....4 hours after taking pictures, the sky was blue and sun was out....." -> Typisch nederlands smile
Picturit: tongue het is hier altijd hollen of stil staan...hoe vertaal je dat??
Our weather is always RUN or STOP/stand still.....
Thanks Ilger for visiting, please enjoy your weekend.

YOU are amazing Musketeer this shot is OUTSTANDING and I am not shocked that someone wants this printed and framed.smilesmile
Everything about this shot is just YOU. I am so proud of you.
Have a good weekend mijn vriend and keep smilingsmile
Picturit: Smiling and laughing we did already, thanks for the Skype this morning....
Taking pictures in this kind of weather is a challenge....love it..and what is more important, I feel I put some of my soul in it...this is me..you are right.
Everybody has its own 'handwriting' too when it comes to photography....
Have a good weekend, mijn vriend.
I can feel the crunch of frost underfoot and see breath steaming in the cold. I will walk through the gate.....and fall in the watergrin

Lovely picture Astrid
Picturit: I will prevent you from falling into the ditch full of cold water...I will be the leader here....gringrin
Thanks Bill, have a good weekend.
Awesome shot Astrid !
Picturit: Pleased you like it.
I can feel the coldness Astrid. Beautiful shot.
Picturit: It was cold and strangely it was warm too...for my inner me it was soulful.
Thanks Bernie, have a good weekend.
Just beautiful, chilly but beautiful, congrats on selling a print!
Picturit: wink thanks Nigel...it is always a big compliment if others are pleased with my work and want to have it on their wall......
Have anice weekend.
That looks like a hoare frost Astrid: we rarely get those any more in my part of the world: more's the pity!
Picturit: Germany........did I miss something......
We get frost now and than, I hope for minus 10 for at least one month, than we can skate the canals again......arghhh...if only...if only.....
Hope you have a nice time, please enjoy your weekend.....ahhhhh...I remember something....are you...tonguetonguetongue.....the thing you told me......if that is true I will keep a close look at your post.....haha.

Works well. The way the ground falls away leaving the open gate on the summit does imply a celestial gateway. Enjoy your week end ;o)
Picturit: Celestial Gateway.....(I had to translate the first word wink ) you put that into beautiful right words, yes it could look like that....when my time has come to walk into 'my next life' I would not mind walking through that gate into the light......
Hope you enjoy your weekend too..
Fog and frost long grass and a wooden structure ... you can't go wrong . richard
Picturit: oops....you are right, if it was that easy....grin...we both know it works a little different....wouldn't it be nice to have here 20 of 'us SC' with one topic and get a go at it and show it on SC on the same day???
Ginnie and I did a few times when we had our photo-hunts together....we and SC loved it.....
Have a great weekend.

It just makes me want to go out and have a walk there. The combination of the fog and frosted grass is stunning.
Picturit: You would love every second of it....this is a world so magical, even the smell is unique, the stillness is enormous, not spooky at all, at least not for me...to feel once 'alone in the world' but not lonely...
Please enjoy your weekend.
Are we doing a Chad and fading out bit by bit? I would not put that past you, Astrid, if only to humour me. The cold from this photograph is coming off my computer screen and making me shiver.
Picturit: I would never doing a 'Chad' that is yours.....this is how it was, thick beautiful fog....strange that it makes you shiver...it made me warm inside, so much beauty, so much to see, even in this small world, I had to focus on the details that were left for me to see...'far away' that was NOT visible.
Maybe for the best....future....nobody can see in the future...and that is good, live in the now and make the best out of it.
I do hope that a nice warm kopje koffie can make you stop from shivering...
Have a nice weekend.

It is like a gate into the world beyond. It somehow reminds me of Chris de Burgh's song about St. Peter's Gate. Although I think those gates will not be made from planks.

You see, you make the mystical in me rise its head smile
Picturit: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QvlsFW3DdEA
Kippevel Louis....geweldige muziek, THANKS.....I am just sitting here and listening while listening........dank je wel......
I am very please you enjoyed my picture...
What is wrong with simple planks.......it does not always have to be gold, silver....expensive.....simple things in life....you know what I mean.
Thank you Louis, please have a nice and joyful weekend.

I was again thinking about that story of the paralytic man who was brought to Jesus by his friends and then lowered down through the rooftop because the crowd was so big around the door. Before Jesus healed the man, he first looked up at the friends on the roof and said, "Because of YOUR faith...." and then he said to the man, "Pick up your mat and walk!"

This is one of those times when things happen because the friends care so much...like the world caring about Obama winning our recent election! That kind of collective energy really makes things happen!! So I am very hopeful for you, lieve vriend! smile
Picturit: I know what you mean, that is why we need our friends, friends for all times, friends who also stay around in tough times, even not always visible friends, however their positive thoughts might make the difference, like what happened with Obama.
Even I sens the positive thoughts friends send me, they encourage me in the hunt for work.....thank you for that smile

perfectly muted scene! it also must be a challenge looking for photo ops in this low visibility fog.. great job.. grin
Picturit: Rian you would have loved it to be with me on this kind of hunt....I was out there for 3 hours, loved every second, so much to see.....yes even in the fog..

First class

Have yourself a fabulous weekend smile
Picturit: Paul, thank you for your dear words to me and your compliment.
I will just try to relax the weekend,

fabulous composition and atmosphere Astrid, well done and enjoy the coming weekendsmile
Picturit: Thank you Tim and I am already enjoying my weekend, hope you do too.
Reminds me of being a kid and going out in the fog, not knowing what was behind the next few yards. Those were the days.
Picturit: You are so right, playing hide and seek in this kind of weather is sooooo easy!!!! gringringrin
Very nice shot Astrid. I like the icy and crisp grass!
Picturit: It wsa magic out there...

It looks quite odd to see a section of fence and a gate all alone like this, it'd be easy enough to walk round them.

The detail on that frosty grass is rather wonderful.
Picturit: Ellie.....I would not try if I were you unless you can swim, the end of the gate is hanging above a ditch with water, we have pieces of grassland, rounded by ditches and only where the gate is, is it possible to go out/in the meadow.
It is beautiful if the grass is covered with frozen dew.
Have a nice weekend.

PS. You have moved my heart with your comment on All Saints Day.
Yes, it's very hard.
This was my first post after:

This is the second:

I tell you, it helps writing and talking about grief and sorrow.
Not to forget the comfort given by blogger friends all over this tiny planet.

btw. I must say thanks to you and my beloved blogger friend Ginnie, for the attention and sympathy regarding my oldest son's death.
Picturit: Thank you so much for visiting my blog and for your dear words, I know sharing grieve is important, for if you talk about it, the mind can put things in order, I know from my own experience that it sure helps to have friends all over this planet, I have the same with my SC-friends, I am so pleased you feel comfort too by blogger friends, the Internet does make the world small.
Please I hope you will have a good weekend.
Picturit: Thanks!! smile

Picturit: I am so pleased with your words...
I love to go out in the fog and try all kinds of things.
Nou dan was het toch een mooie timing dat je daar was. Al was de plaat vast en zeker ook mooi met de blauwe lucht maar toch net eventjes anders.
