Now that is a field of daffodils! Impressive!
Picturit: There were about 3 fields with different kind of daffodils, these are the kind with the 2 color hearts, this was taken on the island of Texel, it is know for the flower fields, sheep and wool.

Yes, stunning.
Picturit: Thank you Michael, your words say enough.....thanks

Astrid, this is simply gorgeous. I love this shot. Look at all those daffodils!
Picturit: I have seen this for many many times, BUT I am still impressed by the quantity of the flowers and the beauty of them.
A very nice view with judicious use of DOF.

I like it very much!
Picturit: Your words mean a lot to me, thank you, and I am glad you like the picture.
ta façon de prendre la photo est idéale. superbe
Picturit: Merci beaucoup pour votre mots aimable, I aske the owner if I was alowed on the field.

That's lovely Astrid. I like the way you have blurred the background and the composition is spot on.
Picturit: I just focussed on the foreground, the shed in the back is just a great object to capture too, I have some post coming up soon of it.
Thank you for your kind words.

There is a poem that starts, "I wondered lonely as a cloud and came across a sea of daffodils. something like that. such a nice shot of these lovely flowers.
I wandered lonely as a cloud
That floats on high o'er vales and hills,
When all at once I saw a crowd,
A host of golden daffodils;
Beside the lake, beneath the trees,
Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.

Continuous as the stars
that shine and twinkle on the Milky Way,
They stretched in never-ending line
along the margin of a bay:
Ten thousand saw I at a glance,
tossing their heads in sprightly dance.

The waves beside them danced; but they
Out-did the sparkling waves in glee:
A poet could not but be gay,
in such a jocund company:
I gazed - and gazed - but little thought
what wealth the show to me had brought:

For oft, when on my couch I lie
In vacant or in pensive mood,
They flash upon that inward eye
Which is the bliss of solitude;
And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils.

Thank you so much, I never had heard it, I googled and gave the link.

do you see that gap ..... I hate to tell tales but there is one missing ... as a dutiful citizen I am honour-bound to direct you to the culprit - Blackdog !
Picturit: BUT....BUT.... I just gave that one to Mike, I asked the owner of the field if I could get 'one' out.... see, now we are all happy....

Beautifully composed image, Astrid. This is a view I would love to encounter.

Beautiful to see them en masse like this. I presume they are for cut flowers - how on earth do they harvest them? I like the crop - it emphasises the scale.
Picturit: I will post another picture, that shows how they are planted, it is all hand work, these fields are as big as a coccer field and even bejond that...
I never get bored watching the fields, there were crocus, hyacint fields too, the tulips I hope to see in a few weeks...

this makes me happy, the bright yellow color. Too bad I can't smell them too...
Picturit: It was strange, there was little smell on them, maybe when cut they start smelling, it was almost freezing point here too.
I am glad that this picture made you happy.

Great composition and use of judicious DOF. The iron maiden is splitting on the Blackdog - bad form. So what if he took a daffodil - is someone counting them?

This remind me of my first April visit to holland. One day we drove around and the fields were filled with flowers (tulips). Two days later they were all gone. Koppen voor de bollen (beheaded for strong bulbs that is the export product).

Probably the only time in my life I got near to a depro.
Picturit: I know the feeling comming along a field with beheaded flowers, than the flowers are sometimes thrown on big piles...that is depressing, but the best for the bulb...just try to imagine what a delightfull flower will bloom the next year out of that bulb....
About Mike, I just asked the owner if I could pick one and give it to somebody....he did not mind....
and no nobody is counting...just aske..and never take...

... and only grown for the bulbs. In a month these will be cut to the ground. So enjoy them in a field of gold. richard
Picturit: This picture was taken 3 weeks ago, last weekend we were at the island of Texel again...they were gone, I enjoy these fields when possible, thank you for your kind words.

There are 2008 Daffodils ! Gospel According to St Astrid.
Astrid, either you are covering for the Black Dog or you actually risked imprisonment for him
either way, you are a little flower !!
Picturit: Thank you so much for your kind words...I am not covering up for Black Dog, I think he is capable of handling these things perfectly.....

Beautiful Astrid.

Abbie would love to run through one of these fields - she loves daffodils.
Picturit: I don't think the owner will be thrilled about she running through the fields....he has to make a living from these...but I know what you mean....I can picture her though, in the middle of that field....the nicest daffodil of all!!!!

We call in German these flowers "Osterglocken"! They belong to Eastern to!
Picturit: Thank you Philine, yes with Easter they bloom, this picture was taken about 3 weeks ago.
This is absolutly wonderfull Asrtrid. First time I see a daffodils field. You captured it so well with this deep DOF. Thanks for sharing it!
Picturit: We have so many of these fields, BUT...BUT...it never bores me, I am always amazed when I see so many flowers in one field, thank you for your kind words.
if you have time in the next 4 weeks or next year....keep it in mind to visit this in Holland...the Keukenhof..
What a beautiful display of daffodils Astrid and good to see you are looking up English poetical culture on Google. I hope you liked the poem as much as I like your picture.
Picturit: I loved the poem, I had never heard of it and Mick was very happy that I took time to look for it...thank you for your kind words.

Wauw....mooi!!!! Like the DOF! Yellow mellow field of flowers. You know what would add a real holland touch to this pic? A windmill in the back..hahahaha.
Mijn complimenten!
Picturit: I know, but I think the shed was a kind replacement, thank you for your kind words, dit is altijd mooi in het voorjaar, gewoon op Texel.

Astrid, you've outdone yourself. Finding that field. Taking this picture. The crop is great. Fanstatic, as my mom used to say!
Picturit: Ruth, with some other pictures I was laying on the ground (I will post the too) , there are several fields like this on the island of Texel, like crocus, hyacint, daffodils and tulips in all kind of colors, it is so beautiful this time of year.
Thank you for you fanstatic compliment smile

Oooo - lots and lots of them, makes my solitary daffodil look very sad ;o)
Picturit: I think you did not read the comment of Jude Iron Maiden and Louis.....
and Mike your daffodil is my likey....he who is not happy with less, will never be happy with more.....or something like that....
and you daffodil was only cold...never sad.
Nice scenery Astrid, very nice.

possibly my fav image from you! mal
Picturit: Thanks Mal for this compliment, I was lucky I was allowed to be on this field, normally it is forbidden ground, but the owner was working here, so I asked nicely, he could not refuse wink
Very nice yellow field, only I am not sure I should use so many DoF on this one. It is different than normal, but maybe it would be nice to make a total sharp panorama photo.
Picturit: That is maybe because that shed is more than 200 meters away, behind this field was another and 2 ditches and the road, I intended this to be like this, I will have another shot of another field in a few weeks, tulips will be out.
wow, I want to run and scream...scream of happiness smile
