Reticulation systems are fascinating...this one even more than usual!
Picturit: It was an amazing feeling to be at this spot, Ray. I love the shape of these towers.
They could have done with some recently in the U.K. Astrid. I do find these structures interesting. I watched a documentary about guys who work on them, fascinating, but scary! You couldn't pay me enough smile
Picturit: I sometimes watch those too. It is amazing how they walk the wires and make the system work. It is good that there are those dare-devils. Not my cup of tea either. I will take the pictures wink.
I felt so small when I stood here. I finally came to the spot where I had a nice overview of the chimney and the wires. One day I will go back when the big chimney smokes. I just have to ride halfway and I can see already.
the chimney, the wires and pylon, the clouds, so much to see here, Astrid.
Picturit: Indeed, Ayush and it is such an impressive view. I felt so small at this point.
Lots of great lines and angles!
Picturit: Thank you, Elizabeth. I finally found the spot to have this overview. It was great to look at it from this POV.

We rely on electricity Astrid, so we might as well enjoy the aesthetics of pylons and wires
Picturit: I am with you on this. We cannot live without the electricity, that would be going back to the tree trunk boats floating down the river..... I admired the view.
I love this, Astrid, as you already know. The vanishing point perspective makes it even more powerful.
Picturit: Thank you, Ginnie. I was so glad that I finally found this POV of the electricity factory and these wires.
I was impressed with the view.

It doesn't take any end - a fascinating image!
Picturit: That is true, Philine. This is an amazing place to see so many towers and wires.
Scary looking things aren't they? Still we would be lost without them. Mind you at the rate we are going in the UK we won't have any power stations to replace the ones that are near the end of their lives....pass the candle please
Picturit: Indeed, Bill. I felt so small underneath these wires. I don't know about our power stations but it is a fact the we are nowhere without electricity. I always have candles in the house for a few weeks.....

These great pylons look like invading monsters from another planet Astrid. You are getting a name for liking these structures. It looks as if you were low to the ground to take this.
Picturit: I was on ground level, Chad. On the bike. I was so impressed with the view here. I have a view pictures from the other side of the big chimney. But this was my wish to have this view. One day I will go back when the big chimney is smoking....

Industry can make great shots as well.
Picturit: Indeed, Louis. I like designs like this very much.
Fine in black and white - lovely tones!
Picturit: Thank you, Tom. I like the "power" of this shot.
Strange that they make the countryside look ugly yet make really good pictures, just like this one.
Picturit: It has two faces, Brian, we like it and we hate it... but.....in the end we all need it.
nice !
Picturit: Thank you, CR.
Thank you also for stopping by.

I like the strong contrasts and tones. Friendship
Picturit: Thank you, Ruthie. I like scenes like this.

Great in B&W........a real wow, Astrid!

Necessary blots on the landscape but now essential to our everyday life. Much of the UK was affected by power cuts on Friday which they are still investigating. I hope the same does not happen when demand rises during winter.
Picturit: Yes, the world comes to a total standstill if the power is " turned off"...... think about the baby boom..... nobody knows what to do anymore without electricity...... wink except maybe that one thing grin
Is is nuclear?
Picturit: Water power and some coal sad but that will be finished in a few years.

Frightening...I just watched the serie "Tchernobyl" from HBO...
Picturit: This is not nuclear, Anne.
I remember Chernobyl and all the mishap with people after that.... sad
