Picturit: Yes indeed and it has nothing to do with the calendar.
Very good! Great title, and eye! :-0
Picturit: Thank you, Elizabeth. We saw this in every harbour in Norway, huge tires.
Ray beat me to it. Doh !
Picturit: I know the feeling, Frank......

Ainsi les bateaux sont bien protégés.
Picturit: Indeed so, and these were the smaller tires....
HAHAHAHAHA! I love your title for this, Astrid. grin
Picturit: smile I am glad you like this, Ginnie. It was fascinating to see how many tires there were in the Norwegian harbours to protect the quay from being wrecked by big ships....

And there is a ladder for those wishing to climb into the water Astrid
Picturit: Or to get out in case they had the urge to go for a swim, Chris.

Your English is amazing, Astrid - now you are punning!
Picturit: Not so good as you think now I have to look for the word 'punning' however I think I might get the gist what it is....... thank you, Lila. I love the fool around with words.....
Wat een leuke woordspeling voor deze heerlijke foto
Picturit: Dank je wel, soms vind ik dat heerlijk om te doen. Wat dat betreft is taal een prachtig iets.
J'aime beaucoup !

It is a sensible use of old tyres Astrid, and even looks attractive.
Picturit: Thank you, Chad. This was spotter in Norway, many tires were like This in harbours. And also realy BIG tires......
Clearly not very good at parking boats around here grin
Picturit: HA!!! Maybe so.... however the waves were also big and with big boats they don't take any changes.
Good shot and very good title to go with it.
Picturit: Thank you, Brian. I love to play around with words...
You would find tires and buoys on every wharf here. A common sight.
Picturit: I think it is a good thing to re-use, Mary and they come in handy.
a good way to re-use balding tyres, Astrid. they work just fine here.
Picturit: Thank you Ayush, I was surprised how many tires are re-used in the harbours. Love it.

That's a good use for the old tyres. It will keep the boat hulls from being scratched against the edge of quay.
Picturit: They do an excellent job here, Alan. I was impressed by the seize some were.

Man running behind car, can get exhausted.
Man running in front of car, can get tired.

Are those Astrid tires any good?

The tires are not so much to protect the quay, but to protect the boat, once it is tied up. The moving water will cause the boat to continually scrape against concrete quay side.

This makes a splendid picture, with your crop.
Picturit: The best of the best, Louis grin...
You are right about that the tires protect the boats and not the other way around.
Thank you for your kind words.
MI piece the cut you gave to the photo. A right way to reuse used tires
Picturit: They are all over the harbours in Norway.
