I like your friend, Astrid...
Picturit: When I approached 'my friend' he was not scared at all and stood there as a poser. I think they are used to people and try to steel their food too wink

This is fabulous, Astrid!
Picturit: Thank you, Ray. This little poser did not move one bit when I wanted to capture him/background.
I love this photo of a curious gull! Very nice DOF for... very effective!
Picturit: Thank you, Elizabeth. I tried two options, focus on the boats and focus on the gull... the winner is... smile (I once read about DOF and the camera settings and I love to experiment with that setting)
You and I are at the same place today and I LOVE your curious friend, paying attention to your every move!
Picturit: Indeed so and I was surprised that the gull did not fly away..... this one was not afraid at all.

Master of all it surveys, the ubiquitous seaside gull..
Picturit: These gulls are amazing, at the island of Texel, after eating fish, we would throw the bones in the air....not a seagull to be seen and in seconds there would be 10 or more fighting for the rest of the bones we threw on the grass and wondering why they never choked in them.....

He is waiting for the main chance, Astrid
Picturit: Absolutely, these birds are very 'rude and not afraid' if that is the word.

Très belle photo, j'aime les goélands.
Picturit: Thank you kindly, Martine. He was a real poser.
The bird is thinking, ' I must go and get my eyes checked'. You may laugh if you wish at that mediocre joke Astrid. The bird is superb.
Picturit: smile ...... I think he did some eye drops in his eye and let it soak in......
Thank you, Chad. Have a great weekend.

Excellent shot. Focus on the bird is better. I take only my bridge camera along on overseas travels. It works quite well, but can't really produce DOF shots like this.
Picturit: Thank you, Louis. Ginnie mentioned that to me that her DOF is not as 'strong' as mine. As long as I can carry the thing around, I have shoulder strap across the chest, that is the best thing I bought in years, I will take it on trips, there will come a time I have to get something more easy to carry....
Love it!! Gully looks sh wistful, like there is more to life outside this old town.
Picturit: Gulls to me are very intelligent and great hunters, love the way they observe things...
Thank you, Mary.
They are posers and waiters, one sat on the grass beside us on holiday the whole time we ate our packed lunch just watching.
Picturit: ........and waiting for something that was unattended and ssshhhussssss.....it would be gone and eaten and digested...... HA....
A fine picture of a bird I detest Lady P grin
Picturit: I hope you had your hand over the bird, but then the picture is not in focus.... thank you for the bravery to look at this detestable bird....grin.....
Love the composition!!
Picturit: Thank you, Robin. It is such a nice little harbour.
this is a fabulous shot, Astrid. i love it. i suppose i would have scared away the bird.
Picturit: I was surprised myself that the bird did not fly away... he was too curious I think smile

I love the depth of field showing off the gull.
