I like to wave at these cameras, Astrid.
Picturit: HA, I like that too, Ray and make sure I don't speed... is very costly here.
Astrid.
oh this is quite unusual to me. i have not driven in more than a decade and therefore normally miss looking out for speed cameras. in Singapore, i think they are mostly mounted on overhead gantries. nice presentation, Astrid.
Picturit: We have different kind of speed-traps. On the bigger highways they scan your licence plate and let's say on a stretch of 20 km/miles they check you again, then the computer will see if the average speed is not more than allowed.
Here is a situation that they set up an equipment that reads your speed and takes picture of your car and you get a nice picture with time and date and the speed and the bank number where you have to transfer money to, because of speeding. IF you don't pay in time the penalty is horrendous...
Astrid.
Jolie vue sur ces radars très sophistiqués.
Picturit: They always get you by surprise..... grin.. I try to keep the speedlimit all the time, a waste of money.
Astrid.
This is a very elaborate affair Astrid...
Picturit: They have it into a science, Frank, they will catch you no matter what.
Astrid.
This is a most unusual photo!! You made a great job of it!
Picturit: Thank you, Elizabeth. It is not often that I saw this so close-up. I saw them on my way going and told myself, if they are there when I return I will capture this....

What a machine! Radar?
Picturit: Yes, radar and a photo camera to get you on a picture with the speed and the time and the date and the spot where they spotted you....
It cost big money, Philine.
Astrid.
Hi Astrid
I'm guessing it's the installation of radar photographers flashing cars. Not discreet, but probably effective.
Picturit: Very effective, Marie. And they catch a lot of cars...
Astrid.
Man alive, Astrid. That is quite the set-up for nabbing the speeders. I had no idea it looked like this (when you were telling me about it).
Picturit: Yes, I pointed out the spot where they set up all the equipment. They have a special place where they are sometimes.
That was quite the set up, I had never seen it from that close.
Astrid.
Rho !!!! jamais vu !
Picturit: This was my first time that close too. Normally I am in the car and don't see them..
Astrid.

I hope you weren't speeding on your bike Astrid!
Picturit: Sometimes I go over the speedlimit with the bike, Chris. So funny, here is the road going down for me, from the bridge and when I really hit it I go over the 30km speedlimit with the bike HA.... (19 miles an hour)

Unusual, Astrid - I hope you got away!
Picturit: Oh yes, they did not even saw me on the radar... too fast grin..
Astrid.
Astrid.

Picturit: Yes, on my bike they did not want to catch me...

What a lot of equipment Astrid. They are always in a marked van in England.
Picturit: No, not here, Chad. Here they kind of have the car parked next to the road and have the equipment like this. So often when I see a "suspicious car" I pay attention grin...
Astrid.
We are less sneaky here and our speed cameras are highly visible
Picturit: No, not here, Bill. Here they kind of have the car parked next to the road and have the equipment like this. So often when I see a "suspicious car" I pay attention grin...

A van full of equipment. The officer must have studied at AU to know how to connect all the stuff.
Picturit: Well I hope you were right here, Louis. One day there was in the paper that they set up this thing and they typed in the wrong number for the speedlimit, so all the material was thrown away for that day grin.

Astrid.
This reminds me of when I used to drive in France and race through the speed cameras.........at that time we wouldn't get a ticket :-D
Picturit: Lucky you!! There was a time that people from abroad were not fined, but a lot of Germans with their racing on our roads got away with it and now they have to pay on the spot or get a bill at home and they have to pay HA...
Astrid.
Oh, dear. Speed traps are terrible, as are road-side checks.
Picturit: I know, but it as always the good have to suffer with the bad.... I try not to speed.
Astrid.
Very sophisticated equipment for speed cameras compared with what they use over here.
Picturit: Brian, this was the first time I saw this from close. I never saw one in the UK and also hope not to see one too.... wink
Astrid.
you captured something like a spy machine that can even take pictures at all the people in the passing cars Astrid...
come to think of it... one of the cameras is pointing right at yougrin
....petersmile
Picturit: They won't recognize, Peter, even if they want to... I always were a helmet and I have a knitted mouth-protection shawl against the cold and I can cycle faster than they can run.... the car was on the other side of the railing..
Astrid.
I like how you focused our eyes. Friendship
Picturit: Thank you, Ruthie.
Have a wonderful evening.

Fabulous photo smile
Picturit: Thank you, Cherry. Sometimes these pictures need a strong twiddle...
