Ce doit être dangereux comme travail.
Picturit: I think they know what they are doing and everything seems to be secured, Martine.
Astrid.
Great set of images, Astrid! I especially like the main image!
Picturit: Thank you, Elizabeth. This was kind of being at the right spot at the right time grin.
And my excuse is always that they can hear I am not American and I can ask all kind of questions and they politely answer too.
Astrid.
Good shots Astrid.Important work !
Picturit: Indeed important work and thank you, Frank.
I was impressed by the time it took to make sure the main power was up in 30 minutes.

It looks like they are playing some kind of areal game, Astrid.
Picturit: If only, that would be a "sparky game"...

They look as if they know what they're doing Astrid
Picturit: That looked it to me too, Chris. And they came with a large number of people. It looked likt they already have a written plan "in case of.... " do so and so...

Safety is of the essence, Astrid. Thank you for showing the other interesting shots, too
Picturit: You are so welcome, Lisl. To me this is new also and I loved to see how they do it. Our wires are mostly underground.
Astrid.
You'd never see this in the Netherlands, Astrid, so no wonder you were mesmerized! It reminds me of "How many men does it take to change a light bulb???" grin
Picturit: grin... Indeed, Ginnie, this was great to see and that I was in the right spot at the right time. I was so lucky to be there. They came with a large number of people so my guess of how many it need, give or take at least 20..... grin..
Astrid.
Very impressive series.
Makes you wonder how the technician knows his way around all those wires...
Picturit: My guess is that they are very experienced in doing the wiring. They told me first the main power line that goes through town and then connect the houses. a few houses lost the wiring.
Astrid.
Il ne faut pas se tromper de fils là  .....des hommes au travail précis !
Picturit: This is for grown-up indeed, Claudine. No fooling around, they did a great job.

A great observation and image - and Astrid is helping the man at work!
Picturit: I was there indeed. I would have loved to be there up in the air, looking at they were doing.
Thank you, Philine.
Astrid.
and to think lots of people don't even know how to change a plug grin
Picturit: The main power was out ONLY 30 minutes. A car drove into the pole to make it snap. A whole crew was called in to get the power up again. This was on Sunday morning at 8.30 AM...... I asked what they were doing: first they will transfer the main cables to the new pole and get that one going and than they will do the ones that go to the houses. Amazing.
During the power loss I heard many generators going like crazy next to the homes, Diesel of course.... sad Maine is known for power loss on a regular basis.
For me these are the interesting things to see and than I am happy I speak the language to ask the traffic controles what is going on grin....
I know the problem with people and plugs.

Presque des funambules
JP
Picturit: Indeed, JP. they had rope enough to chose from and to practice.
Astrid.

I have noticed that you quite enjoy studying people at work outdoors Astrid. Your name is very clever.
Picturit: Chad, I just eat this kind of stuff and I was able to ask around what they were doing, always mentioning that I am from Hollandshire and we don't have wires above the ground like that.
Thank you.
Astrid.

Looks more like they are sharing sandwiches. Great shot(s)
Picturit: HA, that would be the day, Louis. I think they did a great job.
Thank you, Louis.

When I see the American power distribution network, I'm never surprised to learn of the power outages they get! It all seems to be a right mess to me. Still at least they are not digging up the roads as they do in the UK. Love the sky in the main shot.
Picturit: I share your not being surprised something will go wrong. Can you imagine, a car hit the pole and 20 people have to come and fix it.... there are always two sides on the coin, Alan.
Thank you kindly,
Astrid.

Awesome shot. The blue sky adds so much more to the scene.
Picturit: Thank you kindly, Andy. It was a wonderful morning.
Astrid.
Lots of work to ensure the electricity stays on in the storms to come. I like the x form in your collage.
Picturit: Thank you, Care. Ont the iPad I have an app for collages. It is named "live Collage" I have the free version. They have great templates.
Astrid.
There's certainly a lot going on there.
Picturit: Indeed, Brian. I would not have minded to be there up with them and have a better view.

I'm into leading lines lately. This is splendid.
Picturit: Thank you, Bonnie. many lines to chose from wink..
This was so much fun to see them working.
Astrid.
Fascinating action here. The sky is amazing. If you and/or Ginnie want to friend me on FB I am Ruthie Hampton Sullivan
Friendship
Picturit: Thank you, Ruthie.
Have a great day.
Astrid.
Wow - some busy stuff going on there!
Picturit: I think so too, Tom. They did a great job BTW.
Astrid.
Great images Astrid! It looks like it was a big job smile
Picturit: Thank you, Martin. The main power-line-pole broke and they had to replace it. The electricity was out for only 30 minutes, the fine-tuning to some separate houses took some longer.
Astrid.
a great place for a meeting Astrid... this is the first time that i have seen a collage with angles like that....petersmile
Picturit: Thank you, Peter. The collage is made with an app on the iPad. They have all kinds of templates to use and I like it. I don't have a program like that on the laptop (Microsoft) so I just transfer between the two of the apparatus...
Astrid.
