Oh, words fail me...A cracking shot Astrid, I would have loved to be there to see this.
Picturit: Thank you for your kind words, Frank. As I mentioned before, I often thought of you while we were up here. You would have gone over and touch the cross. That is in Germany 2962 meters/ 9719 feet.
The path ends where the most right person is, after that it is almost straight down.
Magnifique photo, j'aime cette mer de nuages et ce beau ciel bleu.
Picturit: This was our reward, Martine. A day we not forget easily.
wonderful! i like the deep blue of the sky and clouds are almost like rivers flowing down! i am intrigued by the staff, Astrid.
Picturit: The staff is the cross on the top of the mountain. That is Germany and 2962 meters high, 9718 feet. There is a very small/narrow ridge that you walk to go there. More about that later.
This picture gave me the feeling that I was on top of the world.....we picked a great day.
Thank you, Ayush.
The very top of Germany! So glad we got to see it with our own eyes, Astrid. This is enough to take your breath away.
Picturit: Indeed, Ginnie. What a view and what a lucky day we picked. This was kind of the cherry on the cake.... on top of the world here.

A fascinating photograph - what a wonderful experience!
Picturit: Thank you, Philine. Yes indeed, this was the highlight if the day, to have these clouds in between the mountain tops. Lucky us.

Brilliant! What a fabulous view across the other peaks poking out about the fluffy clouds. I hope your climb was not too arduous smile
Picturit: Thank you, Alan. We are with both feet on a nice platform that gives a view on the top of the mountain, we just climbed some stairs. The real climbing we let the "professionals" do.
Magnifique !! quelle belle recompense cette vue de tout la-haut !
Picturit: Thank you kindly, Claudine. This was the highlight of the day. We so enjoyed the view.

OMG Astrid, it's life in the clouds. Seems like you had the perfect day for the experience..
Picturit: THIS, Chris was a fabulous day and experience. We were looking for the right weather and I found a terrific up-to-date website of the Zugspitze, also very accurate because of the climbers going up there. And we made the decision to go that day.... a great choice it happen to be.
It was worth it.
More pictures to come.
Have a great weekend.

That is a fine cross Astrid, shining like the sun/son. What a spectacle with all that cloud to look down on.
Picturit: According to the write up, it is gold.... one time it lost a few of the "wings" when there was a storm...
We had a perfect day.
WOW!! What a fantastic experience this must have been Astrid
Picturit: This was worth all the money neede to go by cable car and see this.... what a view and what a day.

Wow! I love this!
Picturit: We too, Ray. Don't you just love this, just stare and listen to the wind...
I might get Vetigo from time to time but it wouldn't put me off the opportunity to see this, it must be an amazing experience to above the clouds.
Picturit: I think you would be fine, Brian. The cable car is wide enough to not be at the window and once up there is a big platform, almost half of a football field, with restaurants and benches to enjoy the view.
Congratulations on reaching the top of Germany! I'm very unfamiliar with these places so I'm thankful you're taking us there smile
Picturit: Thank you kindly, Catherine. This is what I like about Shutterchance, "we" travel the world while we are having breakfast en we see things we never saw before, like you with the Edelweiss.
Have a great day, this was our first time up too.

Comme une rivière de nuages
Picturit: Thank you, JP. This was spectacular.
A photo that tells the reality of the height. I envy you your courage.
Picturit: Don't you just love it. We were so lucky that day with the clouds too. It does give scale of the height.
We were on a platform, we did not climb up with ropes and irons and axes and all the hardware they use..... just a ticket in the cable car.
