.....Turin and Paris in one box, seen in Turin....

Seen in a crate with things you don't want to buy as a tourist. However some people really tried to get you one, two or three souvenirs....

Fine art in a basket!
Picturit: I thought so too, Ray. Even cigarette lighters were tried to be sold.
Astrid.
probably the same manufacturer produces both the parts with some minor tweaks in between, Astrid. i am afraid most of them are destined to end up as junk, littering people's desks and drawers.
Picturit: Most of these things are made in China and sold in every city. I was surprised with the Eiffel Tower and no we did not get anything.
Astrid.
Des souvenirs pour touristes. J'aime beaucoup la deuxième photo.
Picturit: Thank you, Martine. This is the reason we often travel early in the year, not that many leaves on the trees.
Astrid.
That's funny - selling the Eiffel Tower in Turin! smile I love what you've done with the photo - the colors are so pretty!
And the Mole Antonelliana is just beautiful - I'm glad the tree on the right was leafless so we can see through to the building!
Picturit: I was smiling when I saw what he was selling, I had to make sure that he did not see me taking the picture, if you showed interest the guy was like a Pitbull and you could not get rid of him. This is the reason that we travel early in the year, not that many leaves on the trees.

I got spent such an Eiffel Tower in Paris in front of Notre Dame - 'diese Kleinstexistenzen' belong to the tourist centres!
Picturit: I had one when I was a child, I still have a silver one as a charm on a chain. It was strange to see the Eiffel Tower in Turin.

I'm just marvelling at the building you photographed Astrid, it's terrific

I never really understood the souvenir business. However I did buy a Trabant fridge magnet in Berlin..
Picturit: Thank you, Chris. That was quite the building and the landmark of Turin. How fun to have that Trabant, I bought a few magnets for the fridge too, that are our souvenirs
Astrid.
Oh, yes, I remember that guy with his crate of souvenirs, Astrid. I'm glad you diverted yourself to the Mole Antonelliana!
Picturit: He was really trying to get his stuff sold.... The Mole Antonelliana is just an amazing landmark.
Astrid.
C'est toujours tentant de ramener un petit souvenir !
Picturit: I know Claudine and we take often a magnet for the fridge.

That building below is amazing and beautiful Astrid, while at the same time being quite funny, as if disproportionality focussed on roof and tower.
Picturit: The story behind how this building got so tall in in the link... it was all about money....
Astrid.
The Mole looks a bit top heavy! Jolly souvenirs all carefully made in China grin
Picturit: The design got out of hand after a fight about money. "Carefully" indeed....grin
Astrid.
That is a fine tower, ( not the one in the basket ) Astrid. I like how you captured it through the trees.
Picturit: Thank you, Frank. Yes, that basket was filled with erm...erm...
We loved this time of year because the trees don't have that many leaves.
Thank you kindly, it an impressive tower.
Astrid.

Although you may see stuff like that in my house, I didn't buy it! As you say, people gift it to you.

I have never been to Turin so I haven't seen the Mole yet.
Picturit: Nothing wrong with some landmarks in your house, Louis. We have too... Turin is nice but I liked Florence better.
Astrid.
Well noticed Astrid. I like your picture in Turin.
Picturit: Thank you, Brian. That tower is quite impressive.
Astrid.
What a strange building!
Picturit: I know, the result of a fight about power and money and who has the biggest influence.
Astrid.
i see the connection in the box between the Eiffel Tower and the tower in Turin from your photo of the one in Italy Astrid.... nice treatment on the box of souvenirs....petersmile
Picturit: I had to look twice before I noticed and started laughing. I had to make sure the guy did not see my interest.... I might had to use a "fly-swatter"... if you know what I mean wink.

A box of ticky tacky trinkets.

In contrast your photo is a treasue smile
Picturit: Thank you very much, Cherry. The real building is indeed a treasure.
Astrid.
