Astrid the detail in this shot is outstanding mijn vreind. Well done you are just one on your own lady
Picturit: Tracy, I am almost blushing, so many kind words, but most appreciated here....thanks mijn vriend
Very interesting Astrid
Picturit: When I used the flash, it gave this lighting....Astrid
Filler flash? Works a treat here.
Picturit: Martin I know we talked about the filters, I have no filters yet, the shop is in Rotterdam, (40 min by train), my settings were; macro and flash, the normal flash, the bronz got lighted, it was a cloudy day , this statue is in a very little park, surrounden by the buildings of the Dom, Astrid (added, yes I used the flash)
Any sculpture that is not only beautiful, functional, and promotes reading, is a favorite sculpture of mine Astrid. I love this fountain series.
Picturit: Kay, it is a beautiful statue, it is made with so much love, the details are stunning, the face of the monk is just saying "serenity" in a few days I will post that one too, Astrid
Martin wonders if you used filler flash. No, you didn't. It was daytime but you have worked your magic to make it look like what YOU have imagined it to be, Astrid. I love it. I love your magic. And yesterday's gargoyle is still spitting at you, in context. YOU ROCK, Girl.
Picturit: No filter, no nothing, just my settings were; macro
Nice DOF and colors - I like how the water doesn't jump out as the focus, but rather is more of a background feature to the statue.
Picturit: Thank you Jewlya, the bronze was lighted by the flash I used, I am pleased you like it, Astrid.
So luminous, love the details !
Picturit: Thanks Florence, the flash added in this one, I think, Astrid.
Nice fountain for a fine picture with a very good use of DOF !
Picturit: Thank you for your kind words, I am pleased you like it, Astrid
Lovely image, Astrid - I like the light you have on this one.
Picturit: I used my flash to see what it would do, I sometime just give it a try...., Astrid.
Superb details on this Astrid and the colour using the flash is lovely. Well done my friend.
Picturit: You are so welcome, I know with this color I make at least one person happy again
Love the way you have lit this, and the attention to detail with a suitable font (no pun intended)
for your name.
Picturit: Thank you for noticing about the font, it is for this picture suitable, the monk is writing too, I am pleased you like it, Astrid
O,I'm enthousiastic, what a fine elegant bronze sculpture of the monk Hugo Wstinc (altough oxidized because the high moister-content around him, but I like this bronze green)! I love how the monk is reading and writing at the same time, full-concentrated, devoted to his work. He lifts up his right knee in order to hold fast his book and to be able to write- a gesture I know too,not very comfortable but if being concentrated you never notice that!
The flash has lit the statue in a dramatic way and it stands out well against the dark background.
Ingrid
Picturit: Yes indeed, thank you Ingrid as always, Astrid
I love the colours and the way you captured the water's movement ...
Picturit: Thanks Ann, I am glad I used the flash, it gives so much more color to this picture, Astrid.
Beautiful shot Astrid - the lighting is superb.
Picturit: Thank you so much for your kind words Bernie, Astrid
I can see the spitting images and the monk's feet. Hugo Wstinc (een heel gekke naam voor een nederlandsche) was the guy who wrote the first law book for Utrecht around 1342 - also known as the law book of the Dom church. He was actually more than a monk and someone who got consulted by many cities and churches to write law. He was also the canon of the Domkapittel at the time of his law book. The canon was an official of the Dom church - there were a number of such officials - e.g. deacons.
Anyhow after all of that (a name like Wstinc just draws my attention) - this is a great picture. Using a flash in these dark circumstances is something I also do with birds.
Picturit: Thank you so much louis for adding this text for me, I think that Wstinc was originaly form Poland and I am pleased you like the picture, Astrid
If that was where I live, someone would be told to polish it so it would be glinting in the sun light. in my view it is much better as you have captured it. lovely.
Picturit: Well I am glad that they did not polish the poor monk
Nice DoF in this one!
Picturit: Thanks Robbie, just lucky with the flash too I think, Astrid
Very nice love the colour. How big is it
Picturit: I knew, you would mention the color
very nice photograph, plunged into its reading, it even does not raise the nose to look at the photographer!!
Picturit: No, he did not even notice it that I was admiring him.....but than I did not want to disturb him either, thank you Claude, for your kind words, Astrid.
Excellent angle. I like the matching letters.
Picturit: Yes the letters just had to be there, in a few days I will post one without the use of the flash, it is different, bedankt voor je altijd vriendelijke reactie, thank you for your always kind comment
Ohhhhhh. I was so wrong. You DID use the flash, you sneaky woman! Well, I'll be! Here I thought you were using your special magic. I guess you were! I am constantly learning from you, mlv. Constantly!
Picturit: Yes well, and I was not reading good, filler...I thought filter...those stupid headaches
Now I wonder who the gift was from...?
(A nice little statue)
Picturit: Van de gemeente....the municipality, thanks Wim, I am pleased you like it, Astrid
Lovely picture Astrid, I particularly like the way the copper, (presumably) has gone green with age.
Picturit: That is the most beautiful about it, that gives the statue character.., Thank you Brian, Astrid
beautifully lit with the subdued background Astrid, good work. mal
Picturit: Thank you so much for your kind words, Mal, I am really pleased you like it, Astrid.

Amicalement. Francis
Picturit: Merci beaucoup pour me visité, the color indeed is very nice, that makes it so unique I think, merci aussi pour les mots aimable, Astrid.
What a wonderful piece of craftsmanship this is, it looks as if a huge amount of care went into the making - to give a gentle feel to the artwork. Lovely picture too, well isolated from the background
Picturit: The statue was made by a person who also make juwelery, so that tells us why it is so delicate, I have seen this many times, but I am always surprised by the delicate details, Ellie thank you so much for your kind words, Astrid.
WOW, this is sheer magic. I love the lighting and the colour
Picturit: Thanks for your delight!! that is a great compliment, Michelle, thank you as always, Astrid
