Nice capture Astrid the gold is just gorgeous.
I've never seen her depicted like this before. Far from the usual motherly, peasant style.
Picturit: Me neither, that's why I think it is so special.
Ohhhhhhh. What a very sweet memory for me on this Sunday, mijn lieve vriend! It was such a small, solitary Madonna on the wall, all by itself. I LOVE LOVE LOVE how you have cropped and framed it, Astrid. For me you have become the Queen of Framing on SC! (Trust me, I pay attention to how you do it, every time!!!)
Picturit: I am glad I could have made at least two persons very happy with my picture, remember I told you I love the art work in churches very much, brought up in the Mennonite church, which buildings have plain white walls and 'only' one wooden cross on the wall, I am always 'cracking my neck' to look where ever I can spot any beautiful pieces of art work in a Catholic church.
This tiny madonna resembled the serenity of the church.... Thanks Ginnie for your kind words about my presentation, by now you know I think it is part of my pictures....and I know you pay attention and I pay attention too, this is all about learning from eachother and never 'feel too big' telling the other one he/she is doing a great job too
Astrid this is just wonderful, you have the lighting just right for this shot.
As Ginnie says you have created the right border to compliment your lovely picture. Nice job my friend I also agree with you!!! don't let that go to your head lady...we do learn from each other and thats just one of the best parts about SC. I have learnt so much in such a little time. Keep pointing and pressing
Picturit: Tracy, thank you so much for your really kind words, I still have a big smile on my face when I think about Friday....I have learned a lot by being part of SC, it is a challenge to get everything out of my equipment....and have my eyes and ears wide open
She seems to be floating in the air ... Very well captured !!!
Picturit: Thanks Ann, the lighting was good and I used my tripod....(that will be a perfect birthday gift to you in August
Just superb and unique Astrid. I like the way you framed it. Well done
Picturit: Thanks Richard, the lady deserved the space and nice border...
very pure and fine picture !
Picturit: Thanks Pict, it was really nice to view this in real and I must say this is almost as in real..
So simple but done so well. That's it really
Picturit: Simplicity sometimes works the best, thanks Bill
Strange, one associates blue with the madonna, yet here the only hint is the lining of her gown. Nicely lit and I like your space around the figure, makes it seem small and precious.
Picturit: Mike that is how it was, only one foot tall, 30 cm, so I needed to give it more space, I used my tripod and a high aperture.
A flaxen haired beauty to be sure
Picturit: Oh she was/is a beauty
She is a beautiful, Dutch-looking Madonna. I like how you left a lot of space around her.
(And her hair color is like Ginnie's.)
Picturit: Yes now you mention it, it does....Ruth this was so nice, the serenity in church always overwelms me, I am always 'cracking my neck' to see and observe everthing in such a wonderfull place full of art.
Simply beautiful and so beautifully presented. Here here Ginnie.
Picturit: Gale thanks for your kind words, wow you even called me Ginnie.......but...but...I am still Astrid...
Very sharp, focus and lovely. Well captured.
Picturit: Thanks Helen, normally I use a tripod, so than I will have a nice capture to do anything with, I use a remote control to realy get any movement out.
Keep this up Astrid and I don't need to visit Utrecht because between Ginnie's and your shots the whole of the city is displayed on SC!
Picturit: But being there in person is even more beautiful than I can ever capture, I have to go back when there will be no rain...but thank you for your kind words!!!
What a delicate shot.
Picturit: Thanks, it was really beautiful thank you for stopping by.
I love this kind of picture, this one is really nice : Bravo !
Picturit: Zeb, I am so pleased you like it.
You did a wonderful job with this one. Everything perfect.
Picturit: Too many kind words Mary but I do appriciate them , thank you so much.
Oh my, Astrid, this is nice, very nice.
Picturit: Thank you so much for your kind words, it was so beautiful in that church.
Nice capture Astrid, the lighting on the shot is amazing.
Picturit: It was, I used the tripod, high aperture and a remote control, thanks Michelle.
