Ha Ha

Love the ramming mechanism on the prow, Astrid [or Rino].
Picturit: Like Ginnie said, that was quite the education and after the pole broke they just kept ramming the thing in, they did not care that it was not as deep into the ground as the others....
Astrid.
That would be some job! Excellent examples, Astrid!
Picturit: It was fun to watch them being at work and after the pole broke, they kept ramming the pole in....
Thank you, Elizabeth.

Looks like these Italians are trying to build a cage to keep their vicious boats in Astrid..
Picturit: The did, however they did not have enough poles to make it a solid wall, so boats will slip through... but it will keep these men 'from the street'... as we say in Hollandshire when/if somebody has a job......
Astrid.
It was quite an education, Astrid, watching this exhibition of ramming in the poles. But, yes, sh** happens. After breaking off the top, they kept ramming it in.
Picturit: This was fun to watch and I rolled my eyes when they kept ramming in the remaining of that pole... they did not care that it was shorter in the ground than the others.... 'men, sigh'..... wink
Astrid.
OOOPS

You can't help laughing at their misfortune though
Picturit: Yes indeed, I rolled my eyes and even Ginnie mentioned something like.... what happens when the pole breaks... NOTHING, they just kept hammering HA HA HA.....
Astrid.
I could have warned him that this might happen Astrid.
Picturit: We both saw it coming and we rolled our eyes... they just kept hammering HA.
Astrid.
Oh, oh. I have a friend named Rino, an unusual name.
Picturit: That is an unusual name indeed, isn't that short from rhinoceros???
Astrid.
Perhaps they don't grow very strong poles round Venice way.
Picturit: They don't grow poles, period... I don't know where they come from. I would use some stronger poles, or use concrete poles....
Astrid.
What a place to work! Even mundane jobs must be interesting.
Picturit: I wonder if they see were they work, I doubt it, a job is a job as long as it pays....
Astrid.
It's rather hard to figure out what they are trying to do!
Picturit: They make rows of poles in between boats/gondolas can 'park'...in the top picture you can 'see' the space in between them.
Astrid.

Well the work must be completed and lunch time is near.
Picturit: Indeed no time to waste... I have to say that they did pull out the piece of pole out of the water after it fell in the water.....
Astrid.
Love all the comments! Typical men at work...just keep ramming the pole, ha ha!
Picturit: Don't you love it, we watched the whole process and we were just smiling... what a guys...'men' indeed..
Astrid.
this is a great series of shots of the pole pounder Astrid....petersmile
Picturit: Thank you, Peter, Ginnie and I had fun watching the process too.
Astrid.
