Fabulous!

You have a great eye for the unusual, Astrid.
Picturit: Thank you Ray. This was a crane to lift up the iron of the iron factory.
Astrid.
It hasn't moved for a while Astrid... great composition... rust just rocks for a photo-opp....petersmile
Picturit: I love rust. It comes in all kind of brown colours.
Thank you, as always.

Another REAL HDR. YAY. I'm so proud of you again, MLMA. You're waaaaay ahead of me with this technique. Actually, I haven't even started. YOU GO. smile
Picturit: smile It is difficult but so much fun to see what happens.
The object is perfect for the try-out.
Thank you.

Do you know, Astrid - I hadn't realised before what a popular name it was in Victorian England!!
Picturit: smile I know, I wonder why wink
Astrid.
Interesting colour treatment here, was this photo take from the pig launching platform !
Picturit: Indeed, I saw the pig being launch just on my left side.... horrible sight though grin
Astrid.
Certainly is Astrid, interesting subject well suited to HDR - I'd tone down the brightness and saturation just a little.
Picturit: Thank you Fred, I can use all your inside information on this subject.
Astrid.
Very nice!
Picturit: Thank you, Victoria. I love these old 'machines'
Astrid.
I am wondering what it is...or was.
Picturit: It is a steam powered crane, to lift iron bars in the factory.
Astrid.
Great composition and colour Astrid! What an unusual machine, I'm assuming it was steam powered? smile
Picturit: By the look of it, I think it is/was steam powered. That must have been quite a sight, to see it in action smile
Astrid.
It is pleasing to see it is still in existence and not being cut up as it would be in a scrap dealers yard.
Picturit: That would have been a shame. I love old things like this.
Astrid.
This is excellent Astrid! Well spotted.
Picturit: Thank you Richard. This crane was close to the iron factory.
Astrid.
don't know what that did, but it looks cool!
Picturit: It is a steam powered crane. Impressive piece of machinery.

I missed that one, I love the way you have coloured it.
Picturit: This was next to the factory. I was on the second floor, there was a stair and I wanted to have an overview.
Thank you.
Astrid.
Great shot - ah but Astrid is not really retired is she!!! smile
Picturit: Not quite yet... you might say I am counting down.
Thank you.

Yes, retired, but still preserved to remember of the Victorian hard times - Ginnie's heart must have jumbed up while seeing this old crane! (I'll mail you both privately in the afternoon)
Picturit: She loved this picture. They did a great job at the museum. It was great to walk through the village.
Thank you Philine.

Lol at Lisl's comment- she is right!
Picturit: smile Yes, she is.
Astrid.
Indeed, but when and if I ever retire, I hope I still have some function left in me :^) I always like your inventive "signatures" in your images :^)
Picturit: You will retire one day.... I am counting my days of work, still in years though grin.
Thank you kindly smile, putting in my signatures is one of my pleasures of posting pictures.

This crane looks like something out of a children's book.
Absolutely wonderful!
Picturit: Thank you, I, as a child I had a crane and I loved to play with it. My dad made me a garage with cars.... This would have been on top of it smile
Thank you.
Astrid.
with or without pension
Picturit: In my case with out a pension, but I will survive smile
Astrid.
What a charming old contraption!
Picturit: It was a great place to visit, Lots of pictures were taken.
Astrid.
It looks like I feel smile
Picturit: Are you feeling any better after a good night's sleep?? smile
Astrid.
Perfect title and of course, great capture!
Picturit: Thank you Robin, for your kind words. I need to learn a lot more in this HDR... but I will keep trying.
