.....stars are out.....

I love the rich color. Looks like a perfect night to go out and eat.
Picturit: Thank you, this is a vey well known place to go out and eat, also during the day, when I was a student I ate here many times, we had a clear night, almost full moon and no wind.
This picture was one of a few I took when I attended a workshop 'night-photography' very interesting and fun to do. Astrid
A beautiful night shot.Very nice, Astrid.
Picturit: Thank you for your kind words, glad you like it.
Astrid.
Great result. The bicycle gives a lot of interesting depth to this image, Astrid.
Picturit: Thanks Ray, I needed 'something' in front, a bike is the most commen way of transportation in Utrecht, so...
In this place I used to eat when I was a student, Astrid.
Astrid.
Wonderful and colorful night shot Astrid. There are four stars here! I like the silhouette of the first one in the foreground.
Picturit: Thank you so much for your kind words, this was a very nice experience to me, we were 15 of us taking pictures, I was at a workshop, so much fun...
Astrid.
Astrid. You are the star here... what a beautiful night shot .. love the bike in the foreground, the green canopy is wonderful. :o) John
Picturit: John, you make me blush with your kind words, thank you so much, I was at a workshop nightphotography, loved it and I know what I did/do wrong...I just keep on practicing
Astrid.
The workshop paid off, just look at this amazing shot Musketeer.
The clarity is awesome, well done you What have I told you about standing on street corners late at night. Your better off tucked up in bed
Picturit: Thank you for your kind words, we had a perfect night, a small moon, clear sky and NO wind.....don't you worry Musketier, I was in diguise, high heels, my blue dress with white ribbons...
Astrid.
Nice one Astrid. Where did you do the workshop?
Picturit: Thanks, in Utrecht, http://www.dk-f.nl/
Astrid.
Astrid, I find no easy way of telling you this. I know they look like stars but they are really street lamps (only joking)
Goedemorgen again. I see you included your bicycle in this image. Quite a stunning night scene and sound production.
Picturit: OHHH that is what they are....well I was told to put a high aperture, breath in, fingers crossed, remote control in the hand....press and wait...wait....wait....and be happy, I think I was...at 23.00/11 P
Thank you for your kind words Chad, really appreciate them, een prettige avond verder, tot morgenvroeg...ontbijt met koffie.... Astrid.
Nice colours, I like the bike, but i think the post is a bit distracting.
Picturit: Thank you Nig, but this is a student city, bikes all over the place, students come to eat here, I did too, when I was a student many years ago, Utrecht without a bike is NOT possible.
Astrid.
Beautifully clear and rich colours. I love the stars and that bicycle in the foreground. Did you pick up any useful tips in your night photography workshop?
Ingrid
Picturit: It was a great experience to me, we were 15 and we had fun all night long, yes I was taught many things in just a few hours, now I have to put that into practice.
Thank you for your kind words. Astrid.
Lovely night shot Astrid. The bicycle gives perfect foreground interest.
Picturit: Thank you Bill, I am pleased you like it,
Astrid.
What a great night shot Astrid, the colours are so warm, like the starry-lights!!
Picturit: Thanks Chantal, I was told that the higher the aperture (16 and higher) it might happen that stars will appear...
Astrid.
Nice shot Astrid, its really sharp!
Picturit: We had windstill weather and a clear sky, the perfect night for this.
Astrid.
BEAUTIFUL night shot!
Picturit: Thank you Martie, I am pleased you like it.
Astrid.
Gorgeous night shot Astrid well done.
Picturit: Thank you for your kind words,
Astrid.
This makes me want to wander around.
Picturit: Mary, if you ever come this direction, please let me know, I will be too happy to show you around, it is only 35 minutes by car from where I live...in the polder..
Astrid.
great lighting, so sharp!!
Picturit: Thanks Chantal, it is amazing how much light there is at 'night-time'
Astrid.
Amazing star patterns in the lights.
Picturit: Thank you Clarence, the higher the aperture (16 and higher) stars might appear.
Astrid.
Nice, sharp image Astrid.
I've not done much night time photography. It's something I would like to do more of.
Picturit: You would love it, just take John as a guard or your two sisters and have great fun
Astrid.
i love the scene and the colours. great job.
Picturit: Thanks Ale, I am pleased you like it.
Astrid.
WOW, love the colors ! And the sharpness...
Picturit: Thanks Ferdi, we had windstill weather and a clear sky.
Astrid.
Woow Wonderful colours and night photo. Is this the square that Andre Rieu had a preformance in?
Picturit: No, that is the Vrijthof in Maastricht, the south of Holland, this is the Neude in Utrecht, in the middle of Utrecht.
I am a fan of André Rieu too. http://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vrijthof_(Maastricht) http://www.andrerieu.com/site/index.php?id=1&L=1 music is on this link. Thank you for your kind words. Astrid
Wow. Very nice. Love the light.
Picturit: Thank Roger for your kind words and visiting.
Astrid.
Very nice colours Astrid, where are all the people that should be enjoying this lovely place?
Nice work
Picturit: It was Wednesday, 23.00/11P cold....this was taken last week,
thank you for your kind words. Astrid.
awesome shot and colours. Love the bicycle silhouette
Picturit: This bike had to be in, it is a student city and they travel by bike.
Astrid.
Maybe the stars are out (nice!) but apparently no one and nothing else, except the photographer!
Picturit: Yes, the other 14 photographers were to my left...
Astrid.
A great night scene of this town square - like the title as well.
Maybe Nigel explained that it is not the bicycle, but the pole that he finds distracting.
Picturit: Thank you Louis, yes Ngel wrote me that I misunderstood him, now I know what he means and I can find him in there,I did not have an iron-saw, to cut it out and it was not my bike so I could not move the thing and make a picture with the pole.
Astrid.
This is a nicely executed night shot and a very Dutch theme
Picturit: This is in the centre of Utrecht, bikes belong there
I am pleased you like this one. Astrid.
This has such a European feel with the bike, the cobblestones, and the cafes on the street!
Picturit: You are so right here, Kathryn, for us we don't see the difference, but it is European. (Utrecht, de Neude, in the centre)
Astrid.
I like the dark and heavy colors and without the pole the bicycle will fall
Looks like the workshop paid of, very nice night scene
Picturit: LOL, I know what you mean....I just let it as it was, the workshop was just great, in a few hours we got a lot of tips, now I have put those into practice.
Astrid.
Yet another fantasic shot Astrid! The bike adds character to the scene you captured here.
Picturit: Thank you for your kind words, bikes and Holland are just one....
Astrid.
The star is YOU, Astrid.
Superb shot ! I like it. One question : are you use a tripod ?
Picturit: You are too kind Henri, thank you so much for your kind words, yes I have a tripod and a remote control, but you can use the selftimer too.
Sometimes the shuttertime is more than 50 seconds. Astrid.
I like the colours in this, Astrid, and your title is very apt. The bike gives good foreground interest.
Picturit: Thanks Alan, we did not see the real stars, but these will do too
I am pleased you like it. Astrid.
if i win the lottery Astrid i promise you one thing, i will be over to visit you and you and i will see if we can light up the pages of SC with some superb night shots like this together
Picturit: Tim, you are most welcome, please let me know and we just 'endanger' the streets at night.....
Thank you for your kind words. I keep my fingers crossed Astrid.
The building colors are great - the bicycle, while a nice touch, almost disappears with such a lively background behind it.
great night image. i like the texture of the street.
Wonderful night shot!
I like colors and composition.
Why does this look so very familiar!!!!!!
Picturit: I have not the faintest idea
Is this a photo you made on the time you have bin at Utrecht with Jeroen? Nice those lights/stars.
Picturit: Yes indeed, we were 15, it was so much fun, we were at 4 locations through the city, we got much information and now it is up to us to improve and practice.
Astrid.
Great night shot Astrid. We have a night time competition in my camera club later this year and I will try to learn from your picture as it is not something I have really tried.
Picturit: If you need anny information please ask, I wil tell you what I know...and I learned a lot in just a few hours, now I will just put that in practise.
