This one was in my unassigened bin, but I still want it to show you
when I saw this tree I just stared at it, I felt so small compaired to this majestic tree
centimeters (inches) of thick frost covered the branches
I used a tripod with all of my frost pictures!!
(my almost frosted hands did not allow me to get a good grip on my camera)

This does not deserve to languish in the unassigned bin!
Picturit: I know Martin, sometimes it is hard to choose which one 'has to go first', thanks as always
A tree of wisdom, I would say. You're really good at frosty things, my dear (and Russians know what frost is).
Picturit: Viktor you should now, I can only 'imagine' how cold it would get in Russia, compaired to Holland, we would consider us living in the 'tropics'
fabulous photo the white of the tree the fog low and the super blue sky
Picturit: I am very pleased that you like it and thank you for visiting.
Great stuff with the blue sky in the background. And I like your unassigned bin
Picturit: Thanks Louis I am pleased you like it, I like my unassigned bin too so once in a while, I will see what I can dig up in future, I'll let you know, have a nice day, my friend.
Woah, major shiver!
Lovely shot, Astrid.
Picturit: Thanks John (I did use a wrong name here I am so sorry
The lighting here is perfect. The contrast between the trees and the sky makes the shot for me. Likeyed
Picturit: Stan I am pleased you like this one, I had a super morning taking these shots....days like these are rare in Holland, thanks for visiting!
Ohhhh. Erg goed, mijn vriend. No, GEWELDIG goed! It's hard to believe the tree(s) can still stand beneath the weight of that frost. I can see why you would just stare at it, Astrid. I agree with Martin that this did not deserve to be in your unassigned bin. But then, when you're busy, it's goed to find something there!
Picturit: I know Ginnie, but some times I am happy to have 'something' in the bin.....I have been busy lately for some different reasons
Beautiful
Picturit: Thanks glad you like it
Very, very beautiful, especially with the bright sky!
Picturit: This was the most beautiful day we had for years, it only lasted 4 hours that the frost was like this on the trees, the sun was too warm.
Magnificent, Astrid. What a beautiful sight. Love the winter sun infusing it with that soft glow. (:o)
Picturit: Roz, it was so nice and I was all alone here, almost heaven on earth....
What an amazing sight - I don't think I have ever seen frost like this. Glad you posted it.
Ingrid
Picturit: We haven't seen this kind of frost either many times, I am glad that I wook up early, so I was in time to watch the sun rise.....
Astrid this is just gorgeous, beautiful composition and colours. Yes this is my comment and I'm sure urban8 won't mind being called an Aussie.
Picturit: WOW, my mistake there Aussie, I must have been still sleeping or doing too many things at the same time, I was watching Leyton Hewitt playing tennis
This tree is really gorgeous, covered with snow. It's a nice christmas postcard Astrid !
Picturit: I already used it as a Christmas postcard.....they loved it..thanks Florence for your kind words, as always...
You were holding out on us with this spectacular shot! Very nice!
Picturit: Well kind of..Mary, I am very busy this week so than the 'bin' comes in handy, I do have some more to come...thanks for your nice words.
Another delight Astrid. The light and colour ....it's almost edible
Picturit: Bill I am very pleased you like it, thank you for your kind words!
Tracy on Ginnies computer,
Love the shot Astrid. The heavy frost bending the branches and the contrasting blue sky beautiful 3/4 a day to go!!!
Picturit: WOW that you even have time to even THINK about me....but than I am very happy you did
Astrid, I looked at this beautiful wintery scene and said to myself, "I must go to Holland in the winter." You've inspired me to make the trek.
Picturit: Kathryn we don't have this kind of weather all the time, now it is damp and a little too warm, even this frost only lasted 4 hours, but I will write to you if we might have a long period of snow/ice
wowee. that is stunning Astrid. wish our tree's would look like that sometimes...but without the cold! This really creates an out of world feel for us warm climate folks
Picturit: Liam, this was even an out of world view for me, these days are rare in Holland too, but if we have frost and fog, this is the result, thanks for your kind words!
Astrid i love your presentations.. beautifully frames. you take so much time and trouble.. well done. i love thsi tree.. i would have just stared in amazement.Love the blue sky as a contrast. Gone to my likeys
Picturit: To much credit but I love your kind words, yes Gale presentation is very important too (for me), see it as an inner urge to do something with the picture, you've noticed and that made my day, my friend.
Another wonderful shot Astrid. The tree tones on this blue sky are magnificent
Picturit: Thank you Richard voor your kind words as always!
This is the beginning of the poem of the American poet Robert Frost (1875-1963), Birches. Especially the last image(metaphor) sounds so beautiful and your pic gives an imagination like that..!
"When I see birches bend to left and right Across the lines of straighter darker trees, I like to think some boy's been swinging them. But swinging doesn't bend them down to stay. Ice-storms do that. Often you must have seen them Loaded with ice a sunny winter morning After a rain. They click upon themselves As the breeze rises, and turn many-coloured As the stir cracks and crazes their enamel. Soon the sun's warmth makes them shed crystal shells Shattering and avalanching on the snow-crust Such heaps of broken glass to sweep away You'd think the inner dome of heaven had fallen..."
Picturit: Philine, I don't know how to thank you, this is so beautiful and most appriciated that you wrote it down for me, thank you very much, het gedicht is precies wat er op die dag gebeurde met deze mooie boom.
Lovely Astrid - sends a shiver down by spine!
Picturit: Thank you for your kind words, I know the feeling....I had the same.
This is an amazing shot. I'm really pleased you assigned it for today
Picturit: Ýou're so welcome, I kind of needed cheer up myself too, the weather is just rain and fog and no sun, glad you like it.
Gosh, I wish my inassigned bin had some shots as good as this! Lovely light gives the frost a nice pink tinge against the blue sky ;o)
Picturit: Thanks Mike, normaly I put pictures like this at once on my SC, but there had been so much frost I was afraid I had to put the heater up ...
fabulous scene captured beautifully
Picturit: Tim thank you so much for your kind words!
Astrid: this is wonderful!
Picturit: Chris I am so glad you like this one, thanks as always.
Just magic !!! Like if we were in a fairytail ... It can't exist somewhere else than in a dream ... How do you do to shoot your mind ? Thank you so much for sharing this ...
Picturit: Ann, you make me smile, thank you so much for your kind words, this tree should only be in our imagination, but I was the lucky one to spot it and capture it in full glory!! Thanks as always!!
So, so astonishing. I'm so glad you brought it out. The poor trees look rather laden, I hope they survive all right.
Picturit: Ruth this was a fairy tale tree, it survided, I have the intention to go back in full spring and do a 'make-over' of the frost pictures and than with the flowers and the trees with light green new leaves, so you can see yourselve how astonishing spring can be here too, thanks Ruth as always.
"picturit" is just a little bit longer than "pict" but your photos are much more magnificent especially those frozen landscapes ! congratulations !
Picturit: Thank you so much for your very kind words and I am very pleased you like it, but just look at my first pictures how I started out.....have confidence
We think you ROCK! #1 as far as we're concerned! You go, Girl!

It's a magnificent picture of a wonderful tree.
Why is it that there aren't any gems like this in my unassigned bin?
Picturit: Thanks Ellie, for your kind words, I am sure you will have something beautiful in your unassigned bin, I have seen pictures from you.......
Stunning. I never get tired of your frosted trees.
Picturit: Charlie, thank you for your kind words, I do love the frost too but I have to make sure that I don't over-kill the subject, I have some more frost in future, have nice weekend and thank you for visiting and commenting my SC, most appriciated!!

Standing ovation !! And a likey again !
Picturit: You make me blush my dear friend
Beautiful contrast between trees and blue sky.
Superb!
Picturit: This was once in a life time, we had severe frost and fog, a rare combination with the blue sky, the fog was at night.
Astrid.
I'm impressed too! lovely shot. well done!
Picturit: This is an unique picture, this frost only lasted for 2 hours, my fingers were frozen.......
