Nice DOF Astrid. He/she's quite a poser.
Picturit: She was is the loving mother, it even looks if she is smiling, there were about 20 of them.
Thank you for your kind words and have a great weekend. Astrid.
is that her blue-eyed boy?
Picturit: Yes it is...when I came close she was not that happy, so I kept my distance.....
Have a nice weekend. Astrid.
Sheep are not my favourite animals...however, you seem to portrait them rather nicely, Astrid.
One of my first jobs, after leaving school, was to drive a large truck transporting sheep from one region in Australia to another...basically chasing food for them. The truck held about 300 sheep. Loading the sheep was an "interesting "exercise...at first, not one of the sheep would allow itself to be coaxed up the ramp and into the truck...I learned the easiest way to get them started was to grab one sheep and drag/carry it up the ramp...when I got it into the truck, it would bleat something like "Hey guys, come on up, it is 5* accommodation"...then the other 299 would all try to get up the narrow ramp at the same time, and I would be crushed by a wall of foul-smelling mutton. Fun times for a 19 year old, without a driving licence even.
Picturit: I can picture you Ray, crammed up with those-foulsmelling-torpedo-objects-without-a-pre-set-course, when they go...they goooooo.......
So I am honored that you even looked at my sheep and came over your dislike.....thank you for that wonderful story....I think you had you drivers licence very quick after 253.093 of loads of sheep?? Have a great weekend and I hope I did not make you having nightmares again of those sheep.... Astrid
Mrs Lamb was perplexed. She had just heard rather worrying reports of a sheep rustler going by the name of Chad, who stole young lambs, painted red marks on their backs and then drove them to their end off a cliff somewhere in England ! He had been doing this for MONTHS
Picturit: Months you say, is it only that short, I tought that story went back to early 1800.....BC that is....
Astrid.
Lovely picture of goats. Goede morgen Astrid. You could have got a shearing tool and written your name that way...lol. hartelijke greoten van chad.
Picturit: It crossed my mind to have one painted blue all over, but it looked a kind of sick when I started painting.....
Thank you for your kind words, I hate to tell you...it is 'groeten', I know, I know, not nice to say, but I don't like Louis to be upset again.... Nog een prettige dag en hartelijke groeten, Astrid.
BC Astrid - would that be Before Chad
Picturit: erm...erm....erm.....I am not sure, was there even life before Chad.......
Astrid.
Is this to show chad that new life could be had? Great detail (much better than chad) and at least different from yesterday's picture that you had. I think he could come for classes
Picturit: Not only to show Chad, I think it is good to know there is more to this world than only that ONE sheep and Louis you know as I do, too many sheep...makes a lot of noice, so this will probably my last post of sheep, Chad is more than welcome to exchange some thoughts about taking pictures, objects to capture, or posting in general....
But I have that urge to see if he MIGHT have changed someting drastic... Have a nice day and thank you for your kind words! Astrid.
LOL at previous comments Astrid, it really is a sheep's world out there
We could not sleep at that time. Ha Ha This is a beautiful portrait Musketeer and you have done all the sheep in the world very proud. Interesting picture LOL
Picturit:
Have a great weekend, Astrid.
Beautiful capture Astrid. I like the glances exchange between mother and kid!
Picturit: When I came close by, the mother was kind of lookong at me, but I just looked back at her....she did not impress me...
just one picture, that's all. Have a great weekend. Astrid.
I like this photo, the DOF is perfect. Misschien is de ruis op de achtergornd iets te veel.
Picturit: Jeroen, this was taken inside of a barn, I think it worked out very good with the noise, I think it is the DOF you see....
Glad you like the picture though. Astrid.
Beautiful capture Astrid. The mother looks a little worried though. I'm glad Chad is taking lessons here
Picturit: I haven't asked Chad though, but I think he knows what he is doing...as long there is the blue line in it, than i am fine...
Have a great weekend, Astrid.
I had sheep and lambs next door but the farmer is now in a nursing home. Every spring I miss the lambs so much. I always helped with injections and bobbing the tails etc. Your photo is helping me remember.
Picturit: Mary, I am glad that I have brought back some nice memory, it is hard work at the farm....this was taken on a small farm next to my village, he has many lambs.
Have a great weekend, Astrid.
These look familiar....
Picturit: I knew you would say that
Have a great weekend Astrid
great dof and dito crop...
Picturit: Thanks Chantal, gald you like this one,
have a great weekend. Astrid.
Like the way you framed and composed this shot of these sheep. Nice tones to this image too.
Picturit: Thank you for your nice compliment, these sheep were so nice and gentle..
Have a great weekend, Astrid.
What sort of animal is this Astrid? ... I haven't a clue ;-) richard
Picturit: erm...erm...in Dutch they are called....schapen, schaapjes, but in English ...I haven't a clue....
Have a great weekend. Astrid.
aaah very sweet photo! The colors and light are very nice. The contrast is used on the way that i like it.
Picturit: Thanks Robbie, this was taken inside the barn, the light was poor...
Have a great weekend. Astrid.
Sheep - you are brave. Good to see some with character for a change ;o) Excellent composition in this family group Astrid.
Picturit: I am brave, very brave...and oh so modest...
have a great weekend, Astrid.
Very engaging and warm portrait. Sheep never look this good in real life
Picturit: This was the exception to that rule I think, I must admit that I had never been so close by a sheep....
Have a great weekend. Astrid.
Muy bonitoooooo!!! Las fotos de animales me encantan!
Picturit: I am so glad you like these animals, they are very beautiful,
Have a great weekend, Astrid.
Love it Astrid. She hasn't been sheared yet I see. Definitely a sign of spring. And what a great shot as mother and lamb exchange glances. One looking out for the other.
Picturit: They get sheared in a few weeks when the weather will be some warmer, I hope to capture that too...
There were many 'mothers with lambs' so cute, Have a great weekend, Astrid.
Great details ... It's the animal I can the best imitate ... Once my parents were looking for the sheep in the garden of a house we were renting for holidays in the country ... And in fact, it was ME !!!
Picturit:
Have a great weekend, Astrid.
This is when "sheepskin" has a brand-new meaning, Astrid! I think this sheep is wearing a sheepskin that someone decided to lay on top of her to keep her warm!
Picturit: Sheep skins are nice warm....they manufacter this wool into blankets, coats, pullovers you name it, it is all about keeping warm...
And yes this sheep has kind of a smile on her face... You have agreat time in Down Under.... Astrid.
gorgeous. love the clarity.
Picturit: Thank you for your kind words,
have a nice weekend. Astrid.
Great image ...I just love llamas, they are my favourite animal ! :o) John
Picturit: Llamas are the most beautiful animals, they make great wool sweaters and blankets...how they taste I don't know....I think sheep taste better....
Have a great weekend, Astid
Beautiful shot, I love the colours and atmosphere of this picture. Great idea with DOF.
Picturit: Your words make me very happy, thank you so much,
have a great weekend. Astrid.
Chad will like this Astrid. I do too - but it's a subject close to his black heart!
Picturit: I don't think Chad has a black heart...his heart will light up when he sees this, I am sure it did.
Astrid.
Every time I come here I am surprised, delighted and astonished at your compositions. Look at that wool. Look at those profiles. I adore this, Astrid.
Picturit: You are too kind, but I have a big smile on my face, these words comming from you mean a lot, thank you.
Astrid.
There is something hopeful about seeing newborn lambs in the fields. Lovely picture Astrid
Picturit: I know what you mean, Bill, I have the same, we have many lambs in the field, sun out, nice warm weather....yes life is good
Astrid
Aah Astrid. This is so cute! I love it.
Picturit: This was inside, it was too cold yet for the newly borns...it was so much fun to be there,
Astrid.
Nicely done Astid, this close up is wonderful !
