Eek! Good job it's a thick, strong rope.
Picturit: I think it was a good rope they used....nothing came down....we always have those funny shots of a piano that came flying down....
Astrid.
astrid 2002??
Picturit: Already gave notice of the mistake...thanks.....
Astrid.
Have you just caught a robbery in progress
Picturit: I will check my files if I have some more of this block.. Robbery in progress, that would be something...
Yes it are all tiles, they used them much in earlier times. Astrid.
Interesting and fabulous shot.
Really like The "scowling keystone" in the arch directly below the protagonist, and the somewhat crude fixed crack in the next arch.
Picturit: This is the older part of the city, nicely build houses....and repaired in a hurry....
Astrid.
Very nice capture of a very simple but very efficient removal method. I like the colours and the bricks patterns here! Did you shoot it six years ago Astrid?
Picturit: No, 2008, my mistake, I just made a notice about that, this is how some have to move things out of the apartment, the stairway is much too narrow....
Astrid.
All that effort. Why not just carry the laptop and small bag up the flight of stairs ....
What is it with the Dutch can't they climb small inclines !!!!!!! richard
Picturit: I haven't a clue...I am glad I can move my stuff the normal way..
he was being lazy, the bed, table, chairs were already down....it was so fun to see, we were to far away to capture that. Astrid.
Interesting fellow love the bricks
Picturit: Yes I think he is an-for-ever-student....this house is in the older part of the city.
Astrid.
This does seem a lot of trouble to go to, to get a few items upstairs! Love the face on the arch - he is not impressed! Well spotted.
Ingrid
Picturit: Thanks Ingrid, the keystone face was hit by a few chairs passing by I think...
Astrid.
Love where you have put your signature
The unhappy face in the arch does not like all that weight on it's head by the look on it's face. Nice shot Musketeer.
Picturit: I think he was hit a few times by the chairs passing by...
Thank you for your kind words again. Astrid.
do you always evict your tenants so rapidly when you have appropriated a new building Astrid - you didn't even give the poor fellow time to wash his hair
Picturit: Jude, no pay...out...out...and out....he did not pay for the water, so no shower that day.....
Astrid.
Moving day? Ginnie had a similar photo last year, telling us that this is how moving takes place on Holland.
Picturit: In Amsterdam they do, we can do it through the door...I am so glad about that..
Astrid.
I love the color of the tile work on the building!
Picturit: This is in a very old part of the city, it has a lot of handwork in it,
Thanks helen, Astrid.
He can't just drop it, his laptop is attached. Or could it be illicit removal?
Nice picture. Share with us what were you thinking when you made the 2002 error.
Picturit: I was thinking of the 2002 sheep of Chad, while I was processing this picture...I know I have to NOT think of sheep any more....which is very hard....I love them baked, barbequed, in stew...you name it and I eat it....the lamb I mean....
Astrid.
It does make one wonder just what is going on Astrid. By the way I can't find you signature today! Brian.
Picturit: #1 he was moving his complete household through the window....#2 my signature is on the right side of his head on the topbeam...
Astrid.
LOL at Richard, but it's a fair question.
Picturit: Yes I know, I did not ask the man if I could check his stairway....but we like to do it different....
Astrid
I don't know what this bloke is doing but I'd love to see more of this building. It's this orange day thing that scarlet is on about, it's gone to your head and you have lost track of time
Picturit: It is Queensday today, sure I was wearing that crown all day and yes I was beamed back in time for 6 years, by midnight I try to get back in 2008 again thought.....
Astrid
The grotesque on the wall is not pleased and maybe it's a bad omen for the transport.
Nicely secluded signature! Awesome.
Picturit: I think it was, Ginnie and I were surprised how they jammed it all in a too little car.....we had to laugh about it....
thanks Ruth as always. Astrid.
My eye was also caught by the scowling keystone (Ray) - he looks like he doesn't approve of having his photo taken. One of your more inventive palces to hid your name - so a shame about the date ;o)
More importantly it is an interesting shot full of details and it works really well ;o)
Picturit:
Astrid.
What an interesting building, Astrid, and how clever of you to put your name inside it. I like this building with all its interesting surfaces.
Picturit: These buildings are so beautiful, it is a real treat to look at the way they are built, great craftsmenship...also the 'stained glass' are a treat.
Thank you for your kind words Chad. Have a nice evening...see you at breakfast tomorrow.. Astrid. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stained_glass
I am amused by the way you Dutch move things into and out of your houses!
Picturit: Martin in these big cities, life is so differnt that 'ours' in these small tall houses they have to do it this way....the stairway is much too narrow....
Astrid.
Astrid.
Looks like a Dutch burglar Astrid!
Picturit: I think it was a-student-for-life....we looked at the things that came out of that house, amazing....fun to watch.
Astrid.
lol at jude's comment Astrid, you must walk the walk for sure capturing all these fabulous images Astrid, great shot
Picturit: Thanks Tim, it is so much fun, first to capture these shots, than post them, than the comments and than to try to make some fun if possible...
This is what I like, the interaction and the dear comments like yours, thank you so much, for you frequent visits and you dear words, I was with Ginnie on this hunt....we have always so much fun and we see all kinds of funny things. Astrid.
Nice idea, Astrid. I like what you've done with your name
you should pass this shot to the Dutch police, looks like you caught a robbery in progress...
Picturit: They caught him red handed, when we were around the corner we saw them coming
Astrid.
I just love this, Astrid, because it's one of the only places in the world where I have seen this done. I think the man's face is close in looks to that of the keystone's.
Thanks for sharing your world with me/us!
Picturit: Amsterdam is in so many ways unique, you already discovered that, everything is possible, on our hunts together, we never take the 'big' streets, in this way we even 'discover' more...it is my pleasure to share this with you...
Astrid.
Nice photo, really amsterdam or not
Picturit: Yes Robbie, it is the Rapenburgerstraat, near by the VOC-ship Amsterdam.
