....You did "WHAT" last Saturday??......

Last Saturday I succesfully finished 35 out of the 42 obstacles in the Mud&Water Challenge

It took me 1.5 hours to complete the 4+KM (2.5+Miles) it surprised me that I have no muscle strain, I have some brushes on knees and elbows of the "crawling"

My skin feels amazing, the mud did wonders HA...

Ginnie will post this weeks pictures of me having a great afternoon.

Seen at The Haar Castle. Haarzuilens, Netherlands.

Nice shot of this bas relief!
What an amazing thing you did, Astrid!!
Picturit: Thank you, Elizabeth. Not that it was very high on my bucketlist, however I grabbed the opportunity when it came and I am glad that there are pictures to show I did it, now I recover from the "aftermath'...and I will take it easy for a while wink
Astrid.
You captured this really well Astrid. You could have got mud treatment at a spa ! Well done though!
Picturit: Thank you, Frank. Going to the Spa is not always an option I choose, to be honest I don't like that pampering. What I am going to do this afternoon though is, go to my regular sports-massage-therapist and get a session of an hour to get the toxic out of the body again. This is the luxury I gave myself for over a year now. Every 5 weeks 1 session.

Apparement tu t'es bien amusée, c'est le principal.
Picturit: Oh you are so right, Martine. I had fun all the time and I smiled many times even falling down. (and yes I finally got the mud out of my cloths wink )
Astrid.
You really did do it, Astrid!!! How many time have I told you that I'm so proud of you!!!!
Picturit: Many many times you said to me that you are proud of me, Ginnie.
Yes, I did it and thank you for the support you gave me through the last 4 weeks of training. It worked out well.

You are just amazing, Astrid! Can't wait to see the pictures
Picturit: Thank you, Lisl. Ginnie will make an "In Soul" post on the event. The pictures are wonderful (if I can say myself) also the videos have a great amusement value grin...

This man just CANNOT BELIEVE what you did Astrid!!
Picturit: I know, Chris and it has to sink in with me too, "what have I done".
I am proud of the result and glad I stayed in one piece. There are some "proofs" on the body that I did "something" last Saturday, the t-shirt and the medal we received still gives me a smile to my face.

Yes, he - and we- can be proud of you!
Picturit: Thank you so much, dear Philine for your words!!
Astrid.
J'aime beaucoup cette sculpture
Felicitations pour ton parcours
Bonne journée
Picturit: Thank you, Claudine. This was a great experience and I am proud I made it to a good end.
Astrid.
Hahahaha

You did great!
Picturit: Thank you, Bill. Yes there is a smile on my face and I feel proud of what I did.

Hearing confessions must be a challenge at times Astrid. But you did something admirable. Congratulations on your achievement, your athleticism knows no bounds.
Picturit: Thank you, Chad. It was a great experience and I am glad I accepted the challenge. Sometimes we can do more than we think. Knowing that I trained that much and coming out of the race "pretty" good, told me I did a good preparation. Of course there are some "proofs" on the body that I did "something" last Saturday, those will go away, the t-shirt and medal will keep a smile to my face for a while tongue
Astrid.
My family did a mud run a few years ago. It was so hot that day that the mud dried on them. So funny! Congrats on your finish.
Picturit: Thank you, Mary. It was warm but not too hot and we were in and out of the water all the time. I did "eat" some of the dirt though... don't know yet if that will harm me in the long stretch wink
It was a one time event for me.....but no regrets, just pride that I did it.
Astrid.
Well done Astrid, this picture really suits the story of your adventure.
Picturit: Thank you, Brian. It does indeed, however I had fun all the way, never regretted one moment...

So very impressive! Well done!
Picturit: Thank you kindly, Anne. I still am proud that I finished it and did not hurt too much the next day. I felt I did "something", but is normal.

Haha!! Good for you! I enjoyed Ginnie's video. It must be quite tiring to keep slipping and then having to stand up again.
Picturit: Alan, thank you. The clay-mud was very very slippery and sometimes I would just sit down and slide down, better than falling down too hard....

so that is when the "facepalm" was first coined, Astrid? good to know you had a good time. will catch up on the pictures.
Picturit: You will love the pictures and videos, Ayush. I have a smile on my face watching those. Ginnie also posts some on FB this whole week.

He shouldn't believe everything he reads in the chronicles of Astrid.
Picturit: I know, Louis. My imagination is bigger than myself... however in the last chapter I explain the regime of training and how it pulled me through the way I did. All my hard work paid off with a good feeling and even the next day, none of my muscles was screaming at me. I will wait with picking up training again until this Sunday though, have a full recovery and be sensible. I am not being paid for this grin...

A wonderful bas relief. And what a big relief to finish that challenge!! Good for you : )
Picturit: I was so glad and proud when I received my medal... I did it. That sensation is so great and also knowing that I did not get injured, Bonnie.
Astrid.
Ha! Perfect image for this posting! You are amazing!
Picturit: Thank you, Robin. It gave me a goal to get some training and I decided that once a week I do the "total training" and the other times I just run the 3 miles... that should keep me fit, now that I am not working anymore.

It sounds like you had a great time on your challenge. I love the image you have chosen for this post smile
Picturit: Don't you just love it. I have to say that I really came in prepared and that I "knew" this is hard, but the challenge gave me more adrenaline to finish it and keep laughing all the way smile
