Jolies statues, j'aime beaucoup.
Picturit: This was at the entrance of the Dom in Cologne. Impressive statues all around and they still are in the processing of cleaning them all.
Astrid.
This just shows to go-ya that you can find a boat almost anywhere. I love it!
Picturit: This picture was a kind of "lack of time" to come up with an ocean steamer, Ginnie. Although I kind of like it to have a "different" meaning of "Boat Friday" grin.

Oh, I recall these wonderfulstatues at the Dom in Cologne - the left figure is Adam. Very fine, sharp images!
Picturit: Thank you kindly, Philine. They did a great job in restoring them too.
Astrid.
J'adore ces sculptures...elles sont très finement travaillées , et j'ai rarement Noe ainsi sculpté
Bonne journée
Picturit: To be honest, it took me a while to figure out who this was. Logic thinking and some help from the internet proved this is Noah. Adam, with apple is next to him.

The other must be Adam. He has an apple in one hand, whilst in the other he holds something rather strange..
Picturit: Indeed so, Chris. The other one is heading for the pond to see if his boat can float.... wink

On this left side of the portal the figures mostly of the Old Testament can be seen: Adam, Noah, Moses, David, Elias, Joachim, Mary's father, John the Baptist.
Picturit: You know everything, Philine. I knew you would know, thank you for the details smile

Great detail Astrid, I do not remember seeing this when we visited.
Picturit: Thank you, Chad. I know for sure you saw the other 853 statues all over the Dom.
Astrid.
Prachtige beelden uit Keulen.
Prachtig op de foto gekregen.
Picturit: Dank je wel, altijd weer een genot om al dat moois te zien. Een Dom zoals dat is voor ons als een museum met museum schatten.
Astrid.
Two good sculptures aren't they, especially the one of Noah.
Picturit: They are all well made, I can look at these for hours and see something new every time.
Thank you, Brian.
Astrid.
He wouldn't have got many animals in that Philine grin
Picturit: A few mice and some fleas, Bill.... but who wants to be stuck with those anyway grin...
I know you know I am Astrid, grin slip of the keyboard grin...

Hopefully we will not need the Ark for a few months yet. We've not had any rain here now since the beginning of May. These are fine cravings.
Picturit: Thank you, Alan. Oh boy, if it starts raining you might have a problem, the soil is hard and wont let water in... in the Netherlands they now will use the old water-wind-mils to help out the big water turbines in an emergency...
I am not sure of this seize will carry us all wink
Astrid.
Sorry Astrid!! I just called you Philine
Picturit: I know about 1/6 of what Philine knows...... and she knows everything....
Astrid.
Suitably venerable...
Picturit: Indeed, Larry. I am always in awe when i see statues like these.
Astrid.
I thought it might be the patron saint of sailors smile
Picturit: Tom, I looked all over the place and I thought the same, until I came on a website telling me who this is....
Astrid.
But at least a belt? Nice shot smile

Definitely qualifies as a boat picture!

So Adam kept the apple? Hmmmm.
Good to have a boat...

Lovely detail smile
So much texture and detail! Nice!
Picturit: They did a great job cleaning these statues, Robin. It will take years before they will be finished with the whole Dom.
Astrid.
