Wow, Astrid, this is eloquent...
Picturit: Thank you, Larry. We live in the apartment buildings you can see in the back, left. A few years ago these houses needed to be torn down, I found many holes to climb through to trespass........
Astrid.
Sometimes I just marvel that this all happened while we could watch the demolition from our balcony. And to think that now there is grass and trees! Lucky you to find the holes for trespassing with your camera! (But you have totally stumped me on finding your signature!)
Picturit: It was fun to watch it and to capture it. I found the file and I wanted to use some of the pictures. I love sites like these... scary sometimes to go in, you never know what you find grin...
Thank you, Ginnie and yes my signature is not one of my best sad...

Your room at Chadhotels was a lovely one Astrid
Picturit: I booked an extra week, Chris. I loved the air condition here..... smile

Oh, you find holes to climb through and to take this somehow impressive image of decay.
Picturit: Thank you, Philine. I love these 'scary' sites and like to capture them.

This looks like a "Ginnie" picture with the "Astrid" treatment!
Picturit: HA.... that is a great way of putting this, Lisl. Officially this is a picture and I used a 3 picture bracketing... I love to experiment with it.
Astrid.
Une prise de vue très originale
Picturit: Thank you, Claudine. HDR with 3 pictures.
Astrid.
Dit geeft wel een heel desolaat
gevoel.

I don’t like broke. Glass Astrid, it can be so lethal. This though makes a pleasing image.
Picturit: I know what you mean, Chad. I feel sad when I see glas like that and they threw a rock through it...
Thank you.
Astrid.
A fine picture of a broken building. It doesn't look that old, but here they are demolishing buildings built in the 1970s and 80s
Picturit: This was older than that and the problem was the sewer system and still is. when it rains the toilets will flood and overflow.... 5 x a year... In this street which is behind us, when it rains really hard the iron lids of the sinkholes start swimming in the street and a fountain of water come out...
Always the fire brigade has to pump them empty...

Un endroit qui n'est pas très engageant.
Picturit: It was fun trespassing, Martine, HA..
Astrid.
Strangely the first thing I saw was your signature because of that piece of glass that I so want to pull out of it's dangerous situation.
Picturit: WOW impressive, Mary. I made sure I was wearing my solid boots because of the glass etc.. this is fun, you can lock me into buildings like these and come and rescue me in 24 hours HA HA HA...
Astrid.
It goes without saying that the vandal who broke the window wouldn't have been your very good self, but at least he/she gave you a good photo opportunity.
Picturit: Brian, this was photographers heaven, I spend many early hours on Sundays to go in and see what there still was. Our apartment is in the middle of all the action. Now it is nice grass and they made a flowerbed lately.
Astrid.
it has seen its better days Astrid... good b&w photo....petersmile
Picturit: It is totally gone now and there is grass and a flowerbed instead. They don't have the money to rebuild houses and we are fine with that....
Astrid.
it is a thought provoking image, Astrid. i like those window stoppers - they remind me of back home where a similar concept was used.
Picturit: Sometimes these pictures remind us from our early days. We had window stoppers like that too and a small kitchen like that. Thank you, Ayush.
Astrid.
Even here it was not me, although in the past .... (A distant past)

Bella
Picturit: Thank you, Claudio. This is all gone, too bad they could not renovate the houses, too expensive.
Astrid.
And no need to pay the window cleaner- look on the bright side !
Picturit: Absolutely.... every negative thing ends into a positive thing, Martin...

Chadhotels grin This makes an excellent picture. Just never thought they will let decay go this far in Hollandshire.
Picturit: Indeed, Louis. These two rows of houses were at the side and back of our building and normally they will never let it go like that. Asbestos needed to be taken out first and after that, they tried to recycle as much as possible. All iron gone, rooftops and the bricks were made really small marbles and they were reused for making the under layer of roads.
Fascinating to see that all happen.

This is "smashing" but hopefully not in your apartment; I hope Ginnie's not gone berserk one day smile smile
Picturit: Thank you, Alan. Love your play on words, and Ginnie is still doing good.... I will tap her on the shoulder if I detect a change wink....

Salima die mijn blog bijna elke dag bezoekt, is ook een Hollandse, maar zij hebt geen fotoblog. Zij is ook een dichteres.
Picturit: Dank je wel, Philine.

Boys will be Boys!
Picturit: Indeed so and I am glad these are not my windows....
Astrid.
Oh my gosh...we would make such a great team trespassing into these old buildings!
Picturit: Robin, that is so fun and yes we would make a great team smile...
Astrid.
Bedankt voor je uitleg smile
Picturit: Graag gedaan.
Astrid.
