photoblog image ....Man at work....

....Man at work....

.....in a church in Connecticut.

Speaking of work, some of you know that I'm being laid off at the end of May.  All of my colleagues will undergo this fate.  No need to say that it takes a lot of energy to try to stay sane in this "Mad House".  However, this week I found a way to 'solve' this problem by starting work at 6.30 AM, instead of 7, giving me more time in the afternoon to spend on my beloved Shutterchance. I will try to keep up with you....except for next week when Ginnie's brother, Nelson, from America will be visiting us.

Excellent contribution to your on-going, fascinating series, Astrid.

End of May...you have plenty of time to wreak havoc...
Picturit: Thank you, Ray. All I want is to do my work as usual, I am getting paid to do so.......
Astrid.
I am sorry to hear of you being laid off--I have been there and it's no fun. sad
Picturit: It is no fun at all but I am hanging in there.
Astrid.
A very nice image - I think this would be satisfying work!
I'm glad you've found a way to stay sane... and to join us once again!
Picturit: Thank you, Elizabeth. It is amazing what 30 minutes can do.....
Astrid.
First of all, I LOVE this image from that only catholic church we visited. BRAVA.

Secondly, the good news is that the lay-off will be your retirement "party," which is so exciting...and sooner than we expected. I'm proud of you for keeping at it every day, trying to make the chaotic environment workable. Hang in there, one day at a time, and you will make it to the very end!
Picturit: Thank you, Ginnie. He was doing a great job. Lisl called him a 'Holy Duster'... grin... and yes now that I can be at a different machine too, that will make it more easy to keep going until May.
Astrid.

Holy duster. I am pleased to hear of what I can only describe as your release
Picturit: HA... a holy duster... and yes I see it as a release and relieve....

Whilst this man is happily cleaning his church you are planning ways to make your life better. This is good POSITIVE energy Astrid!
Picturit: I agree with you and more positive is that I can work on a machine that is in a corner, far away from the filling machines that make loud noises. I tried yesterday and it is perfect.... feeling very positive for the last hurdle to take smile

Good to see that you are singing a solo piece Astrid. I am sure that Nelson will have a great time with you both.
Picturit: I hope that by the time I stopped singing the people did not run away wink.
Thank you, Chad. We are looking forward the time with Nelson.
Astrid.
Le licenciement est toujours une chose très difficile à  accepter
J'aime beaucoup ta photo ..
Profites bien de ta famille
A très vite
Picturit: I totally accept it, sometimes it is difficult to keep working as other colleagues kind of start messing around and don't do a proper job.
Thank you, Claudine, we will have a wonderful week with Ginnie's brother.
Astrid.
Good for you! May can't come soon enough!
Picturit: You are right about that, counting down is the thing I do.
Astrid.
So - you will escape the treadmill a little sooner than expected! That's good news smile
Picturit: Indeed so and I know I will enjoy it. I am very positive for a good outcome.
Astrid.
We have people like this at our church, Maureen being one of them, who go in during the week and clean and tidy and do all sorts of jobs that the people who only come to services on Sunday don't even know about. I hope you both have a great time with Nelson, just pop in and out of SC when you have the time.
Picturit: I think these people do a wonderful job and when you are with a few it is a nice thing to do. We will show Nelson some nice things in Hollandshire.
Thank you, Brian and yes I will pop in when I can.
Astrid.
Does this mean early retirement or will you be looking for work?
Love the picture of the 'gold'church with their special meaning.
Have fun with your broyther in law and at work, keep smiling. They won't know what's happening.
Picturit: Thank you, Mary. It will be fun to have him around and show some of this country.
This was a wonderful catholic church in Connecticut, there are only a few in that State.
Astrid.
Thinking of you during all the work craziness!! Enjoy your time with G's brother! I know he'll love you both showing him all around your beautiful country!
Picturit: Thank you, I found some solutions to make it work. I know he will love it to be here and see a part of the Netherlands. We give him the 'grand tour' in Amsterdam tomorrow.
Astrid.

I see your praises are being sung, regardless of the nonsense at work. I thought, though, that you were retiring in any case rather then being laid off? It is difficult to motivate yourself knowing that there is an end date. Have a good time with Ginnie's brother.
Picturit: I try to do my work as I always have done and walk tall until the end. My former boss gave me a contract with the company and gave me a lot of benefits. I have nothing totally nothing with my present employer, there is absolutely no respect towards us....I keep smiling though smile
We will have a great time, I know, thank you, Alan.

I am so sorry to hear that you are being laid off at the end of May. I hope you can find a new opportunity that works for you. If that means no more working, I can thoroughly recommend that ;-)

But if you need a new work opportunity start looking now smile
Picturit: I think this will be the end of my 'carrier'...I will have other hobbies now wink...
Astrid.
