...Men at work....

While waiting for take-off with ChadAir from Charlotte Douglas Int. Airport, NC, USA, I captured men inspecting the new 370 feet tall FAA Air Traffic Control Tower.....

Construction continued as The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and Charlotte Douglas International Airport hosted a groundbreaking ceremony for the new FAA Air Traffic Control Tower in Charlotte, Thursday, June 2, 2016. A new 850-square foot cab will sit atop the new, 370 foot-tall tower. A 42,000-square foot base building will house the terminal radar approach control (TRACON). Rendering of the new Charlotte Douglas control tower.

Oh, il ne faut pas avoir le vertige.
Picturit: I would love to be on top of that tower, what a view that must be.
Astrid.
it is a long way down for a biological break, Astrid!
Picturit: Indeed so... can you image the view from up there.
Astrid.

A fine erection, Astrid!
Picturit: Ha.... if you say so, Ray.
Astrid.
Wow - how great!! I'd love a job like this!
Picturit: Maybe we can go together and tell them what to do grin....
Astrid.
Cranes and girders! Can't beat it!
Picturit: Indeed so, this was huge and i would to be there too. What a view that must have been.
Astrid.
They sure give scale to the tower, Astrid. I think we were very lucky that day to get in on the action!
Picturit: Indeed so, Ginnie. Amazing how they think up these towers and that they still stand after a storm.... The base is enormous. I wonder if they feel a movement in the tower with a big wind......seasick and so sea to be seen for quite some miles.
Astrid.

I love to see your "men at work", Astrid. Most people don't even notice men working
Picturit: Thank you, Lisl. Of course I could not see if there were women at work... wouldn't that be great that the head enginear is a woman... and yes some men do work grin and yes sometimes it is noticed.
Astrid.

The size of this thing just takes my breath away Astrid. If it gets any taller Chadair flights will crash into it..
Picturit: ChadAir might not have permission to come into a 100-miles radius of this tower....
Wouldn't you want to be there on top and enjoy the view... I think that is quite impressive.
Astrid.

I especially like your series -fascinating and funny with the hand sign!
Picturit: Thank you, Philine. The hands are needed otherwise people would not spot them.
Astrid.
I could not do that no matter how much you paid me! grin
Picturit: grin... I would love to be up there... you can stay down and keep watch though.
Astrid.

Love the Dick Trim like pointy finger. They were waiting their time going up to inspect this Astrid. I can see exactly what the problem is. They have missed out one of the concrete sections. When ready, the Astrid tower is going to be a wonder.
Picturit: Don't you love it and I think they can use this 'pointy finger' to point at the missing concrete session too.... I would not mind going up the tower after finishing. The view will be amazing...
Astrid.

You catch so many men at work - it must be a general occurrence.
Picturit: Maybe so, Louis. Last week I was in Utrecht... man alive they opened a can of 'men at work'.... good for me wink

Ooooeeerr! I hope the crane driver has a steady hadn't; you really don't want to be bashed into the tower. I like the helping hand they are getting. What a view the workers will get once finished; mind you, they probably will spend more time looking at screens rather than any visual reference.

I somehow knew that Ray would like the erection...
Picturit: I hope so too... can you imagine there after the tower is finished and a storm is there.... I think the workers will be 'seasick' because of the swinging of the tower.... and yes I hope they pay attention to their work.
Ray can be so predictable wink
Astrid.
Some jobs are amazing to watch.
Picturit: Indeed so, that was quite fascinating.
Astrid.
Scary, Astrid!
Picturit: ... I would love to be up there and have that view smile
Astrid.
PS and from what I know you are a daredevil yourself.....
I've always thought that people must be brave to go up in things like that.
Picturit: and have a lot of faith in the technology..... can you image the view...
Astrid.
Not a mode of transport I'd favour!
Picturit: Imagine the view you have, but I know it is h i g h...... grin
Astrid.

Rather them than me!
Picturit: I would love to be up there, but I know some wouldn't. Thank you, Cherry.
Astrid.
Someone has to do it, just glad it aint me.
