Good shot of Art Critic [Ginnie] examining the detail, Astrid.

Usually I would regard the diagonal hanging as a crudity, but it seems to work on this occasion.
Picturit: This was meant to be as a diagonal. It was very impressive. It is his last painting.
Astrid.
Love the image of Ginnie and her shadow! And of course the art...swoon!
Picturit: Thank you kindly, Robin. We were very early in the Museum and hardly anybody there. When we left far more people were there.
Astrid.
I love that photo of little Ginnie examining up close - with her usual intense curiosity! The detail shot is excellent - And of course, I love the photo of POTUS - How I miss him!
Picturit: We all miss him. I was sitting on the bench and saw Ginnie examining the painting. I so love this picture... The close-up shows that he even glued pieces of paper.
Thank you, Elizabeth.
Astrid.
Well, then! At least I give it scale. HA! I'm so glad you showed the close-up shot because it quite surprised me. It was much more "rough-shod" than I expected. And I, too, miss the real POTUS!
Picturit: I so love this picture, I was sitting at the bench and saw you and I had to capture you... You do give scale. I also was surprised about the 'roughness'... I am glad I took that close-up.
Thank you, Ginnie for all these fun days out.
Astrid.

Very interesting, that paint is applied as a very thick coat
Picturit: Some parts were even pieces of paper glued on...

A wonderful ensemble of Piet Mondrian and Ginnie! I took this painting, too, which is influenced by Piet's musical experiences - Jazz- Boogie Woogie in New York - I can see the rhythmism!
Picturit: He used this kind of painting for he knew he had no time to paint all the details.. very fascinating.
Thank you, Philine. I am glad you got yo see this exhibition too.

Great shot and good to see the detail Astrid. Ginnie looks mesmerised by this work.
Picturit: It was great to see the details as well. There was a glass cover over the painting which only showed when you really came up close.
Astrid.
Thank you for the close-up.
Picturit: You are welcome, I was surprised to see the details. Some pieces were just glued on.
Astrid.
I see Ginnie is giving it close scrutiny. I am afraid I don't really get his pictures at all
Picturit: I think that his earlier work is more of your liking. Mondriaan thought he was running out of time and that is why he painted like this.
Astrid.
I like the picture with Ginnie included, but like bill I can't get my head round the meaning of the paintings.
Picturit: Like I said to Bill, I think that his earlier work is more of your liking. Mondriaan thought he was running out of time and that is why he painted like this.
Astrid.
Great shot of that Ginnie! Perhaps this art is better in real life, I can't say it does a lot for me, Astrid.
Picturit: Thank you Frank, I think that his earlier work is more of your liking. Mondriaan thought he was running out of time and that is why he painted like this. It is amazing when you see his work through the years. This exhibition showed all his work, it was a one time event. Lots came from private collections or from other museums.
Astrid.
'Victory Boogie Woogie'is right in that youngsters wheelhouse Astrid...
he looks like he understands it....petersmile

Deep thought, lovely smile
I have always liked Mondrian... and as far as I am concerned, Barack will always be the real POTUS.
Picturit: He will and not the yellow monster you have right now.....
Astrid.

I think you know the wonderful child novel by Truus Matti, Mister Orange, I am just reading it in German translation. I would like to read it in Dutch: http://truusmatti.nl/MisterOrange.html
Picturit: I have to admit that I don't know anything about it, I do read a lot however that is fiction and adventures and thrillers and English, I never read in Dutch.
Thank you for the link.

Many happy returns, youngster.
Ginnie is shadowing, Piet.
Picturit: Ha, thank you Louis, yes I am still young at heart and that is what counts......
Astrid.
Well Happy Birthday Astrid...
i hope that you are being very spoiled today....petersmile
Picturit: I am.... I had a great day.
Astrid.
> I really like Ginny's shadow here. And I read you're a birthday girl too. Happy Birthday!!!
Picturit: Thank you, Jacquelyn.
