One of many pictures to come from our trip to Venice and Verona, Italy.

On the right, the famous San Marco square and the famous St. Mark's Campanile.

Lots of boats and lots of architecture in the background!!!
Picturit: This is just a starter from what we saw in Venice, what a city.

What a brilliant panorama, Astrid!
Picturit: Thank you, Ray. More to come. It was great to finally see this all with my own eyes. Most of the 'iconic' buildings I saw in pictures and movies.
Astrid.
Quelle magnifique vue, j'adore !
Picturit: Thank you kindly, Martine. It is quite the city.

Oh, this is the iconic view - from St. Giorgio?
Picturit: Indeed, we took boats to every little island they let us and we made it all around Venice and even to Torcello.
Thank you, Philine.
Astrid.
When I look at this, Astrid, I really see how much we did and saw our week there. I especially like your name placement here. smile
Picturit: Thank you, Ginnie. I think we saw all we wanted to see and even beyond that. We made good use of our water-bus-card.... and that was FUN. You know how I always love 'water'... (not rain though wink )

I've never been to this place but it's so famous I feel I know it..
Picturit: I think after I end the series you might even know it a little better. I know what you mean. We intend to watch 'the Tourist' with Johnnie Depp and Angelina Jolie, tonight..... just for the fun of it.
Astrid.
Lots and lots! I love having this "overview" before you show us more detailed photos. The two of you certainly covered some ground while you were there!
Picturit: I love to be high up and have an overview. I have some more and yes it gives you a good sense of the 'lay of the land' (or something like that)... We did as much we could do and even beyond that. That waterbus system is great. We took a week card and could use it 24 hours a day.....
Astrid.
Une bellle prise de vue qui annonce un très beau voyage surement ! Bonne journée Astrid
Picturit: Thank you very much and yes indeed we had a great vacation and I will post some more pictures from Venice.
Thank you kindly, Claudine.

Old Canaletto would be green with envy if he knew about Digital cameras
Picturit: I think so too....
Astrid.
What a super view you get from this vantage point Astrid. I have never visited this island, not climbed the campanile.
Picturit: These days some of the campaniles have elevators...that helps a lot with going up and down....
Thank you, Chad.
Astrid.
It certainly is flat as far as the eye can see.
Picturit: I have some pictures from Verona and we can see the mountains... Venice as flat as flat can be... built in a lagoon.
Astrid.
Terrific view from wherever you were able to take this.
Picturit: We were at the church on the opposite of the St. Marco Square, a little island we went by water-bus.
Great view and not much done by other tourists...
Astrid.
a very appealing scene...
Picturit: Thank you, Larry, we totally enjoyed Venice, more to come.
Astrid.
A wonderful opening image for what's to come!
Picturit: This is a unique skyline and we both enjoyed it so much.
Astrid.
So beautiful! I've never been to Venice, but will visit there one of these days!
Picturit: Give it time and one day yu will have time do go here. Very easy to go by plane, from the airport buses are going into the city or (more expensive) a water taxi will take you to where you want.
Astrid.
