Terrific, Astrid! Especially your name placement!
Picturit: I was with Chris in Wells and I ran after this man to get a proper picture smile... thank you, Elizabeth, while I took the picture I knew where to put it... I often know BTW.
Astrid.
That's a demanding role.
Picturit: Indeed and 'so English'.....

I am proud the City of Wells gave you a proper welcome, Astrid
Picturit: He is a very kind gentleman and he posed the moment I asked it I could take a picture.
Astrid.
And to think he made it so "personal" for YOU, Astrid! To bad Lisl and I missed him when we were there.
Picturit: I know wink... Chris saw him first and I ran after the crier to ask for a picture. It might have been he was there but was quiet and just walking. If it wasn't for Chris, I would have never spotted him.

I remember this man Astrid. I was so excited to see him that I bought a hat
Picturit: I know and I hope you still wear the hat. I remember that he told me after I said I am from the Netherlands: 'I could tell for foreigners always speak English better than we do.. HA'...
It was a fun day, thank you.

Your handwriting is great! I saw and listened to some town criers in England - a nice tradition.
Picturit: Thank you, Philine. This day he was just walking around.
Astrid.
Very good Lady P! Only right you should be greeted properly.

Droitwich has a town Crier as does Bromsgrove. Needless to say ours is better than theirs
Picturit: Thank you, Bill. HA, of course yours is better wink.... I think it is a graet tradition and 'so English'... good for tourists too, like we have the cheese carriers in ALkmaar... all for the tourists...

Our Village has a Village Crier...he mostly cries at about 0600.

Nice one, Astrid.
Picturit: Nice time to get up, I would say... I love the early mornings.
Thank you, Ray.
Astrid.
Perhaps they could make a comeback and give only good news.
Picturit: That would be a great change. I think people are a little tired of negative news (in general)
Astrid.
I love the video, great fun, I'm aware some places in the U.K.still have town criers.
Picturit: We never heard him that day, he was just walking around, but sure was fun to see him.

Great old tradition. Hope they pay him wells for walking like a clown through the streets.

Dank je voor de condolatiekaart. Een riem onder de hart.
Picturit: I think he is payed 'wells'.. and I think this is also an honour to walk around like a the town's clown....Good for tourists too, I would say.
Graag gedaan, Louis, Het minste wat we konden doen.

One of the fine traditions that we used to have. Now we have social media - and fake news, apparently. He certainly looks pleased to see our overseas visitors smile
Picturit: He was very kind when I ran after him and asked to take this picture. I think he is stopped many times to be captures.
It is so 'English' and fun for 'us' tourists/visitors. smile

I wonder if I shall see him when we visit at Easter smile
Picturit: I hope so and I think so. Please go to the market and he will wonder around. You will LOVE this place.
