I love the shadows that you have captured smile
Picturit: Thank you, I think they did a great job displaying it. There were benches all over and I sat a while to take this in.
Astrid.
C'est superbe avec les ombres sur le mur.

The shadow is even better than the contraption, Astrid!
Picturit: Maybe... I do like contraptions like these... they all work and at school we had to make things out of metal that could move.. LOVED it....and still do smile
Astrid.
Terrific shadows play really great shot, Astrid! I like your comp and lighting! The video and links are so interesting!
Picturit: Thank you so much Elizabeth. Just by accident we came here, the USA embassy is across the street and I had not been in this museum for at least 40 years..it has modern art, but also a more 'traditional' things.
I LOVE these contraptions, we had to wait sometimes for they were on a timer, but most of them moved and made the most incredible noises... HA
Astrid.
How steampunk.
Picturit: I never heard that word, but yes that about covers it well smile
Astrid.
This was one of the most fascinating museum exhibitions I have ever seen. What a great choice to show what it was like. Lucky for us that I had to go get my passport renewed that day!
Picturit: We were so lucky that day and 'we should this do more often'.... this is fun for me. Very fascinating stuff here. I sat down on the bench to take it all in. Lucky US... smile thank you.

What a wonderful shadow tangle, Astrid
Picturit: They did a great job in displaying these objects. But then this museum is almost as famous as The Rijks Museum, Van Gogh Museum... these three are all together near a famous park too... and because of the tourists, it pays off.
Thank you, Lisl.

Oh wonderful! I'm thinking of the work of Roland Emmet. The shadows are very special.
Picturit: WOW.... indeed and maybe even more defined...
I had to google him.. I would not mind to see things from him..

Astrid.
Clearly inspired by Heath Robinson.
Picturit: Maybe so, I don't know if they lived in the same period. Might google it over the weekend.
Love the drawings of Heath Robinson.

Amazing! I wish we lived closer, I would love to see the exhibition!
Picturit: Anne, you would have 'eaten' it, like we did. SO fascinating, and it was the biggest collection ever displayed in one Museum. it went on and on.
More to come over time (on this blog).
Astrid.
How absolutely fascinating, a woman with quite a skill and imagination I presume.
Picturit: This woman in the video is restoring the object, she is with the museum. The artist was a man.

Wonderful photo, Astrid, and I'm pleased that you included that video, so fascinating! Jean Tinguely must have had a vivid imagination. smile
Picturit: Thank you, Petra. I had to include the video to 'get it'... how can you explain his work, you have to see it smile
I love this kind of imagination.
Astrid.
i'll bet that you dreamed about having this cycle sculpture at home last night Astrid...
i just love it and all of its shadows....petersmile
Picturit: To be honest, my machine at work needed some new parts as did other machines and I asked the techie guy if I could take the old parts home.... I have 3 small boxes with 'junk' and one day, I will try to make something that can move.... if I succeed, I will post it on SC smile

Picturit: You would have loved this exhibition, very fascinating. Thank you for your kind words.

the shadows make it all the more dramatic and effective, Astrid.
Picturit: They did a great job with the shadows. Low lights, spot lights on the objects.
