Is that John the Baptist?
Picturit: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Denis
As I told Ginnie, ever since my mom pointed him out in the Notre dame in Paris as I was a child, I 'see' him everywhere...
Astrid.
Wonderful image, Astrid! A little creepy, but a wonderful composition!

I'll try not to - Though the doc is in India the next two weeks, we now start two weeks of remodeling. Seeing patient's and trying to concentrate while new carpet is being put in, and the walls are being painted... may be challenging! But hey, we're up for it! smile

I always try to find him wink...
I am just rolling my eyes, what a moment to start renovating... I hope they don't put a patient under the new carpet, it gives bumps....... Good luck.
Astrid.

Thanks for the timely advice, Astrid
PERFECT for this week, Astrid. WOW! Where did you see this????
Picturit: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Denis This was in the St Peterschurch in Leuven on the opposite from the Town hall. I always spot him somewhere and I have to take a picture of him.... As a child my mom pointed him out in the Notre Dame in Paris and ever since we 'have a connection'... don't ask me why....

He is often in Catholic churches.
I wrote Ginnie that as a child my mom pointed him out in the Notre Dame in Paris... he intrigues me....

This might be the legend of St. Dionysius/St. Denis. You might have seen this in Belgium or in Paris. I saw him at the entrance of Notre- Dame.
Picturit: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Denis I had this in a reply to Ginnie and I was told the story when I was a child and I saw this Denis at the entrance of the Notre Dame in Paris....
Thank you Philine.
Astrid.
Here I stand head in hand
Turn my face to the wall
If she's gone I can't go on
Feeling two-foot small.
Picturit: sad..... but I know you did find the love of your life smile
Astrid.
Some days I feel like this. Some days my head is on straight.
Picturit: Most of the times my head is screwed on backwards, and nobody knows the difference grin...
Astrid
I wonder what the story behind that is.
Picturit: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Denis
I always have to look for him and this is a wonderful example.
Astrid.
Trying!!! Great image!
Picturit: Thank you.... sometimes it is difficult NOT to lose your head... smile

Haha, and don't get too trunk as the elephants say ;o)

Poor John, having to carry his own head around.
Picturit: HA... love that expression.... I think St Denis has a great POV with his head carried like that...
Astrid.
Fantastic sculpture Astrid, I love the colours. Thank you also for the email. The terrible twins - Phillips &Phillips were snapping so I fear a picture might get posted of the event.
Picturit: You are so welcome and I am looking forward to the pictures from P&P.... smile

If I remember the story, Dionysus kept on preaching, after he lost his head. So much for not losing your head smile
Picturit: Can you imagine, it is like a chicken which is chopped off the head, it can walk around the block... I saw that happen one day in out street when I was a kid, highly fascinating... also when you have a chicken leg/food you can pool the ligaments and it moves... things we did as a kid and we all survived HA......
Astrid.
i will be very careful on the ice and snow Astrid... thanks....petersmile
Picturit: Good to hear, Peter... and when you loose your head, hold it in both hands and NOT by one ear..... smile
Astrid.
