Brilliant, Astrid...a depiction of Sapiens spreading over the surface of the planet 10-20 thousand years ago.

What a fabulous and impressive capture Astrid!
Picturit: Thank you so much, Richard. This was in Germany we walked up to the ruins of the Dragenfells in Königswinter, old trees all over the place,

The shallow roots of beech make them so vulnerable to wind, but what a show they put on, Astrid
Picturit: It is really showing off here, you are right.
I just love trees like these, so full of character.

Very strong anchorage for the tree Astrid
Picturit: I agree... I always find this most interesting and fascinating to see the tree lives...
How perfectly delightful, MLMA. I think it's trying to move to a greener spot?
Picturit: HA. maybe so, this was on our way to the Dragenfells Ruin.... a wonderful forest.

Fine looking roots that should keep the tree in good standing for a few more years.
that is really extensive, Astrid. love it
I love seeing old tree roots like this, it makes one wonder just how old the tree is.
Picturit: This was in Königswinter in Germany and I think this is OLD...
I'm a lover of old roots...for some rather odd reason. Perhaps just the aging process...looking for life...wonderful!
Picturit: Thank you Robin. To me it is amazing to see these roots above the ground and still hold on to the ground and the tree.... so full of character. Yes maybe looking for life.
Wow - what a root structure!

I'm always facinated by some of the very shallow route structures that some trees have. I hope this tree hangs on to life for a good few years yet.
