photoblog image ....Kaiser William.....

....Kaiser William.....

This big statue is in Koblenz on the 'Deutsches Eck'.

There are 63 equestrian statues, 231 standing statues, 5 seated statues and 126 bust made of this Kaiser Wilhelm.... amazing numbers, I would say.

For the ones who don't know 'equestrian'... I now know too...

Love that sun flare, Astrid.
Wonderful placement of that sun flare! Wonderful silhouette!
The sun flare is excellent hugging the silhouette!!

How many of these many statues did you photograph, Astrid?
You already know how BRILLIANT I think this image is of that statue, MLMA! It's better than any I got!!!

I am surprised he is remembered in this way Astrid. When I was in Hollandshire with you we passed near to the place where he was exiled after 1918
Picturit: Now you made me wonder and after some research I found out that this is Kaiser 1....... The Kaiser #2 is the one from 1918, refusing to step down and make it possible to end the war......
Kaiser 1 was made into 'unmortality'. I think and thta is why all these pompous statues.... But please don't tell anybody I said so.......

Oh, this is a really great image - the silhouette is magnificent - but the monarchy times of Kaiser Wilhelm II (s, Chris' comment) are over for ever - and your photograph can impress this thought, too - by the darkness and the sunset. A really great image!

Joli jeu de lumière

You give this an interesting perspective, clearly showing the shape of this monument Astrid.
He was self important and others thought so too. This is a good shot.

A very imposing statue - beautiful spark of light, Astrid !
It certainly look a massive monument Astrid. You were so fortunate to get the Sun just there.
Looking very impressive with those sun rays at the side Astrid. Thanks for the info. Something I've learned today
A fine Silhouette!
That's far more than even queen Victoria who has a hundred or so statues I believe

Sounds like he made quite an impression in his time then. I like your point of view very much and the sun burst especially.

Fantastic use of lighting. The ray of sun really adds to the presence of the statues.
