Marianne Vos won last Sunday the GOLD for The Netherlands, in the ladies cycling road race.

The weather was real Dutch, thunder, lots of rain and wind.

Congratulations Ms Vos & the Netherlands!!!! Nice photo of the girls isn't it!
Picturit: Yes it is and it was a 'hell of a race too' (both meanings)
Thank you.

A great moment for you, too, Astrid
Picturit: Yes it is, she is a true champion and very modest about her wins.
Vos said, that going into the final, she really had her eye on Armistead, she is dangerous too.
These ladies are cycling at least 40 matches a year with each other, they know who is dangerous and who isn't.
These riders spend more time together than with their own family.

YAAAAAAAAAY! This was one of our most exciting events to watch thus far. I'm so proud of the Netherlands! And I'm proud of you for jumping up in time to take this picture. It really turned out GREAT!
Picturit: Yes, this was very special to see this. Marianne made history here. Thank you for your kind words. I just wanted to see how this would turn out, taking pictures from TV.
We will see more Olympics this weekend smile smile

I understand your feelings Astrid. Winning a gold medal at the Olympics is the end product of years & years of brutal training
Picturit: Absolutely.... To be honest I was in tears when I saw her winning. I know everything about years and years of brutal training and winning your goal!!
So I know her sacrifices and probably she did ten times more, than I even can imagine.

I'm surprised that you didn't write 'Astrid ' across Marianne Vos's shirt.
Picturit: I never thought about that. smile

My congratulations - I think more dreams have come true in the meantime - a happy situation you captured very well - it is surprising how good the TV photos are - Alan too yesterday posted a glorious event for the Britons (and we are proud of the rowing eights, they are almost a myth in our country.) My best wishes for the Dutch team!!!
Picturit: Thank you Philine for your kind words. I am surprised too that the quality of the picture is rather OK.
I saw Alan's picture too. Mine was posted last Sunday, right after the match smile
There will be more great moments in the Olympics.
Astrid.
It was a great race. There have been some great moments so far in the Olympics
Picturit: Absolutely. The Olympics are so special. It has everything to do with 'The MOMENT'......
Imagine, living towards the 3rd of August 2016, 3 PM in Rio the Janeiro.........

The great thing about the Olympics is that most countries can claim victory of some sorts. Well done the Hollandlands.
Picturit: I love watching these sports events.
GREAT ANDY!!!!!! He will be in the final against Roger at Wimbledon!!!!!!!
We will be glued to the TV on Sunday!!!!
Astrid.
They do look very happy, it's a great shot & well done to the Netherlands! smile
Picturit: Thank you, I think they all three were very happy with the medal.

All kinds of stuff is happening over there in the UK.
Astrid.
It was a very good victory for your compatriot Astrid but also a fine 2nd.place for our GB girl, a battle right to the line, just how it should be.
Picturit: They all did good in that kind of weather. They all can be proud.
Andy Murray won and is in the final at Wimbledon on Sunday!!!
Astrid.
Yeah!!! I love that...have fun, but don't forget to win! Priceless!
Picturit: 4 years ago, she was overwhelmed by the Olympics and she did not pay attention, 4 years later, she 'grew up' and is a grand champion.....
Marianne was on national TV, and she told the story of the coach smile

Thank you.
Astrid.
