Picturit: Thank you Peter. Skating is fun, we enjoy our selves. I am in a different world on skates. I don't need to go fast. I like to enjoy.

Picturit: All the ice skating-ice has gone. Now we only have the big pieces of ice floating on the waterways.

The thing is, it may be 3 years before we can do this again, so I'm beginning to understand the fever! I also know how much the Dutch love to catch the sun. This lady is getting the best of both worlds. HA! I love it. smile

If skating is so much fun then why is this lady not skating. She is missing out on a heap of pleasure and enjoyment.
Picturit: Just wait until she finishes that power bar...
This is skating too. I rested a few time and I had Hot Chocolate and bread with Brat Wurst AND Mustard.

Ja, dit geloof ik, en er is een fijn sfeertje op de ijs -en wat voor een mooi zonlicht- ik hou van je foto! Later zal ik je bijdrag op V&V lezen!
Picturit: Dank je wel Philine. Het was een stralende dag en dit laat wel zien hoe relaxed het was.

Even een momentje rust en pauze, handig zo met die tafel en stoel die er op het ijs staat. Als ik dit soort beelden zie is het toch wel jammer dat het ijs er niet meer ligt, al ben ik de kou wel zat hoor! Ga liever op pad in de zomer.
Picturit: Er stond van allerlei meubilair op het ijs. Het is daar zo gezellig. Het is in de buurt van Giessenburg en Hoornaar. Sneeuw en ijs is best wel leuk maar niet die bagger dat het altijd wordt.

So much to look at here: The hoar-frosted trees, the man with wooden shoes, the sunshine on the woman's face. Lovely look at what you experienced.

This is just exactly as I imagine skating to be over there. What fun!! And - love the accompanying story over at Vision and Verb!
Picturit: You are so welcome. This is what happens on the long canals. When there are houses of a booth with food, they set chairs and tables to sit and relax. Total strangers start talking to each other. Me too and after that, we always wish each other a nice ride.

I must admit she does look to be posing a bit, but what lovely sunshine you had there that day. I will look at V.& V.shortly.
Picturit: This was a total stranger, she was like that. I was pointing at the distance and at the last moment I zoomed in and took her picture. Never asked. wink
This lady was very sophisticated I think (Love the word)

I wonder how think the ice is...
Picturit: I think about 5 to 6 inch, around the 15 cm. That is about what it needs to have a tour organized. Normally we can skate on much thinner ice, as long as you keep your speed grin.

It looks like perfect fun time. It has been such a long time since I have experienced such chilly conditions.
Picturit: Yes, we had a 'good' winter. It started out warm, but then COLD.... It can never be too cold. After 5 days with freezing weather, day and night, we can skate...... It is a fever we have inside us. I almost took the day off to skate. It was good this was over the weekend that we could skate.
