photoblog image ....rain......far away..........

....rain......far away..........

Amazing....one week without rain,

only at night,

only at sea,

no complaining here..........

in the morning I was almost the first to be here

the beachcomber always beats me....

only in time.............

That's a very interesting picture Astrid: the idea of rain only out at sea is like some sort of fable or allegory - or indeed an illusion (or delusion!) Anyway: it's a lovely dramatic shot
Picturit: Chris you know me, I love illusion, sometimes that gives me a delusion, the fable was true this time....we were the luckey ones on the beach....
We had lots of rain at night thought.
This is what i like about being on the island, the fabulous changing clouds.....
Have a nice day (without rain wink )
Astrid.
A beautiful meteorological opportunity.

Great!
Picturit: With these heavy winds we sometimes have these fabulous clouds.
Thanks.

Nice dramatic shot Astrid
Picturit: Thanks Ausie, these clouds I love...
Astrid.
lovely sea and sky ... but the foreground sand is a distraction. cheers richard
Picturit: Richard I already cropped a lot, I love the beache, so maybe I was a little to enthousiastic to show it.......but I don't mind.
Have a nice day.

This excellent - a panoramic view. The early birds are getting the worms. Whatever for the beachcomber and excellent pictures for you.
Picturit: Thank you so much for you kind words again Louis, it might show in my pictures that I fell in love with this island, I have the privilage of coming here alraedy for 25 years a few times each year and we still see new things and never get bored with it. http://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Texel

To have the sea separated by the sandy beach and the bombastic sky is like heaven for me, Astrid. I can walk all day on a beach like that if the sun isn't shining (we redheads have to be careful, you know!). The sea has to be replenished, of course, and lucky the sailors who get to live through all its moods.

I love seeing where you ran in the early morning. You didn't know it but I was the beachcomber, keeping an eye on you! smile
Picturit: Now you understand my love for the sea and the beach AND the early hour, I came across the tire-marks of the beachcomber truck every day....running on the beach is the most exciting place to run (I know a few SC-ers get tired by the thought of running)and than looking to the sky and the sand and all the different shells, I fellt like a kid again....

This are always good photo's. Je hebt een perfecte verdeling gekozen.
Picturit: Jeroen, thank you for your really nice words here, most appricated, it was hard though to get the right mood into this picture.
Have a nice day,
Astrid.
What a magnificent panorama.

And what a master stroke to place the driftwood in the composition right there, pointing like a compass needle to the roughest part of the sea and the stormiest part of the sky. Good job the beachcomber missed it.
Picturit: The dritftwood was my treat on the beach, it was already there, no footprints from me there....the beachcomber indeed missed this one.
Thank you for your kind words.

I love this image Astrid. The sky and sea are so dramatic, offset by the dull brown of the beach. I like the lonely plank!
Ingrid
Picturit: Thanks Ingrid for your kind words, the beach is so stretched that sometimes it is difficult to get the right view, these sky's are always a treat to me.
Have a nice day, the sun is out here....
Astrid.
Nice air you have in this photo. The line of the horizon is to central I think
Picturit: Robbie, it never crossed my mind I put it in the centre, I was more concentrating on the driftwood, I appeciate your words, thanks.

That looks a dramatic sky, Astrid 2008, and I particularly like the pice of wood in the foreground.
Picturit: Thank you Chad I am pleased you like it.

Simply gorgeous, that surf. If it were here, that precipitation on the horizon would be snow!
Picturit: That is what I said to my husband, this is the color of snowclouds, it was near the freezing point this day, so maybe at sea it snowed, thank you Ruth for you kind words.

Astrid I like the amount of beach, give the feeling that the rain is a long way away. The sky is quite dramatic.
Picturit: Thanks Vintage, I am pleased you like it.
Astrid.
grat capture, I didn't go out with that bad weather, my wheelchair would be blown away I am afraid
Picturit: Thanks Chantal, I know the storm is not always to somebodies benefit, je zal zeer zeker het grapje kennen als iemand een overhemd aan heeft met grote punten aan zijn boord, dan zeggen we: pas maar op dat de wind er niet onder slaat, je staat zo op het dak.....

Gorgeous colors Astrid.
Picturit: Thanks Scarlet.
Astrid.
Great shot Astrid, everyone has already said what I feel about the sky and simplicity of this shot. However, I do agree with Richard that you could probably have lost a bit of the sand in the foreground. Sorry.
Picturit: Never say sorry to me, you are allowed to say what you think and maybe next time I will crop more than I did now...Thanks for your kind words!!
Astrid.
This is a gorgeous shot. I love the rain clouds out at sea and the rolling ocean waves. Beautiful picture.
Picturit: Thanks John, clouds like this are always my favourite, with the storm they change every second, I am pleased you like it.
Astrid.
Wonderful seascape Astrid. I love the atmosphere!
Picturit: Thanks Richard, it was great to this in the far distance.

Very nice light on this one! I wonder if something in the foreground would spoil the sense of isolation of provide a clearer focal point than that soggy plank.
Picturit: Thanks Martin, I will not know, I might give it another try on our next stay on the island, in about 8 weeks.
Astrid.
So were you running up and down this beach Astrid? Makes a great panoramic view.
Picturit: Yes indeed, the beachcomber beats me in time, NOT in speed...wink now you know why I love this beach so much, thanks Mike.
Astrid.
Great image. Maybe I would have liked to see a little more of the fabulous sky.
Picturit: Maybe next time, I have some pictures from the sky, I wanted a panorama view, but well sometimes it is difficult to choose the right crop, I am pleased you like it though.

Beautiful! I love the the look of the sky and the sea. Excellent!
Lovely seascape, but would crop it further and get rid of the beach apart from maybe a sliver to act as a base for the picture. I reckon that would look fantasticsmile
