The name of this crocus is not Philine, but in my New Years post I said there  would be 365 days of posting on SC, this year, however is a leap-year so we have 366 days, Philine one of my loyal 'fans' made a comment about it and this is what my promise of that day was:   'Philine you are so right, I missed a day, to make it up to you, the picture of the 29th of Feb. will be a special one for you!'

I did not forget and I kept my promise………

This was taken 2 weeks ago, in my backyard, in the sun

(next week I will be on vacation, I have no pictures lined up)

I LOVE that you have left this crocus to dance on the page in honor of Philine and this leap year, Astrid. She will be tickled pink. You have finessed this blossom just brilliantly. One of your best, IMHO, and definitely a Likey for me.

Have a fantastic vacation next week. You deserve every minute of it.
Picturit: Ontzettend bedankt voor je lieve woorden, Philine is/was very happy with it, this was the first time i did a thing like this, I am looking forward to the many bulbflower fields on Texel, it is known too for their flowers.
I will enjoy my vacation and I will go with the wind.....wink

I was very very surprised (verbazd), dear, loyal Astrid, as this wonderful- coloured and veined (wondermooi gekleurd en geaderd) crocus comes to meet me so openly and heartfeltly (open en hartelijk; der Krokus sprang mich gleichsam an! sorry, can't be translated!)- yes, this is the break of springtime, already since some days - and this leap day promises to be a bright, sunny day, too, there is a new and warm feeling in the air (in de lucht)- many thanks for this present (cadeutje), and I think we all should think over how we could celebrate this additionally granted day (vieren)- I would like - after a nice walk- to visit the film "Trip to Asia" (with Sir Simon Rattle and the Berliner Philharmoniker) and then to listen to Strawinsky, Le sacre du printemps!

Picturit: Philine you are so welcome and for me, I speak German too, so I understood the words, sometimes we cannot translate what we like to say, that is the hard part of a different language....only by long practice, like you and I do, we are able to have some 'deeper' conversation, than discussing the weather wink, Philine it was mu pleasure to give you this colorful krokus, I know we will have an enjoyable week on the Island and I do hope I am able to capture some pictures for me to show you.

Very nice macro shot! The colors looking good also the sharpness in your photo. Maybe you can edit the background by painting it more black with photoshop. That you get the full attention to the flower.

There's a technique for getting these flowers against a black background and I have not mastered it yet.
