I have found that sometimes being alone, but not lonely, Astrid, is the best place to be when the world is "foggy" out there, as it is now for me. Alone but not lonely. I don't think that's a woman there at the end of this path but it looks like one and I'll just pretend it's me.

I am such a fan of fog, so I know I will love this week's series. Thank you for it. The fog will blanket my heart and soul.
Picturit: Ginnie, I just can say you will love this week of fog, normally I don't admit it, but I do know you just a little bit, the figure in the fog is a lady who walked her dog.
We all can be alone, we are lucky to have friends who support each other in difficult times, I know some day the fog will be replaced by the sun and blue sky's and laughter, but untill than, we want to stay in the fog, mlv.

I love this picture, Astrid. It is definitely a likey for me. The trees and the figure below it in the fog. Mysterious and serene at the same time.
Picturit: Yes Kay, when I was on this road and I saw this lone figure, I loved the scene, for me this is a very symbolic picture, sometimes we are by ourselves, but the lucky ones ( like me too) know they get support by the thoughts and prayes of dear friends to get them through very rough times......
Thank you so much for you kind words,
Astrid.

Oh this is lovely Astrid: wonderful sense of depth - and that poignant lone figure
Picturit: Chris I was so lucky the lady was walking her dog, I am pleased you like it,

Oh Astrid. You keep surprising me, dear. In addition to this splendid shot, I see two more equally beautiful you can squeeze out of this one.
Z
Picturit: Viktor, you brought a smile on my face, my dear friend, sometimes I even surprise myself, taking pictures in the fog, I found it difficult, but so beautiful, in some places I was just by myself, no sounds at all, alone on the world, I love these moments......
Thank you so much for your dear and kind words,
Astrid.
Oh, it is great. Well composed and the tones are excellent. The person is just visible enough.
Picturit: I had to be quick, the lady was walking away from me, I am pleased you like it, heavy fog in Holland is very dangerous but oh so beautiful.
Astrid.
Oh I just know I'm going to like these Astrid! Did you put this on the tripod and run down there?
Picturit: I was lukcy the lady was there for me, all these picures to come are taken on a tripod, I am very pleased you like it.
Astrid.
What a shot, Astrid!!! Very beautiful. I love how the trees on the right are changing their tones with the perspective.
Picturit: Mary, when this was om my computersceen I could not believe it either, sometimes is does comes in right at ones....these are my first try-outs in the fog, but I can say from now on I love fog, dangerous to ride my bike in, but it adds an extra demension if captured, I am pleased you like it and thank you for your kind words.
Astrid.
très belle prise... splendide... est-ce une personne dans le fond ?
Picturit: Oui, c'est une madame avec un chien, merci beaucoup pour votre mots aimable et pour me visitez, yes it is a lady walking her dog, thank you so much for your kind words and for visiting.
Astrid.

Astrid mijn vreind,
This is such a great shot, I just love it.
Lonely but not alone is such and great title, and at this moment in time very meaningful in so many ways.
Well done Musketeersmile
Picturit: Tracy, I have to be honest, when I was out on that road I was thinking of Ginnie, yes she might feel lonely but she is not alone, we all have her in our hearts and Donica too, that alone will strengthen them, thank you for your dear words, Musketeer, mijn vriend smile
Astrid
A fine one, Astrid! I like the four trees opposite the figure.
Picturit: Wim, it was almost magic on this road, you know how our fog can be, very thick and dangerous to be in, but here I felt serenity, no sounds at all, I loved it.

Excellent capture. A foggy lane always holds some mystery for me.

I like the title too.
Picturit: Thank you Louis, yes the tittle popped up in my mind, I think in every language it is: alleen, maar niet eenzaam..... fog always gives the mystery feeling, I love it.
Astrid.
Superb shot Astrid. Great control of the light here. It illustrates so well you beautyful title! Great job
Picturit: Thank you Richard for your kind words, fog is for me a challange to capture it like the way it really is.....and in the fog we feel sometimes alone too

Astrid, this is beautiful. The figure in the middle and those four stick like trees are so emotional.
Picturit: Thank you Kathryn, I have been on this raod so many times, but the fog really make it very special, the lady walking the dog was a gift added, I had a tripod, if she had not been there I might have taken the chance to set the timer and run to the trees, but well, cars do drive on this road too.......and I have only one camera...grin

This looks like a scene out of a movie. I half expect someone to jump out of the woods right now.

Nice capture.
Picturit: LOL, yes I can make up a whole story here, scenes like this can be used in movies very easy...thanks Kunle.

Astrid.
Awesome ambiance
Picturit: Yes Chantal it is, fog is magic to me..
Astrid.
Fantastic Astrid - a very emotive shot. All the best Bernie.
Picturit: Thanks Bernie, fog is magic to me.

Beautiful capture Astrid.
Picturit: Thanks Aussie, it was my first picture hunt in the fog, I loved it.
Astrid
Nice perspective on this one Astrid, and the lone figure completes the scene filling what would have been a very empty subject.
I'm so glad reading a quote from queen Wilhelmina as your title. Very impressive, this how many people feel from time to time. Most people know it's only temporary, but for some the mist will not disappear. A very fine photograph, a topper I would say. BTW I left shutterchance and moved to http://www.flickr.com/photos/22412827@N08/ (flickr), because I found the payment procedure not suiting for me (my wife and I don't want our bank account on the Internet)and in that case we found Shutterchance more limited for non-payers than Flickr.
Picturit: Erik, thank you for letting me know you left, but I will find you on flickr, thank you for your kind words and grand compliment, most apprectiated!!

"I'm so glad reading a quote from queen Wilhelmina as your title." Ik ben geinteresseerd wanneer en in welke situatie koningin Wilhelmina deze zin hebt gezegd.
Picturit: Philine, I did not know I did, but I have 'googled' for you, ik zal je de linken geven, het zijn er drie: http://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Koningin_Wilhelmina_in_de_Tweede_Wereldoorlog

het laatste is een boek, in de middelste staat de zin ergens aan de rechterkant, ik hoop dat je er uit komt, anders hoor ik het wel.
Astrid.
Great photo, I think that you've chosen the best title possible for this photo.
Picturit: Thank you Jeroen for your realy nice words, the tittle popped up in my mind when I was out there and I saw the lady with the dog.
Astrid.
those four slim trees particulasrly do it for me .... and Astrid you're b and w images are so good. richard
Picturit: Richard, your kind words make a really happy person smile, I have fun with the B&W, it is a different dimension, it is more about the picture, the colors would distract I think.

Very atmospheric, Astrid! I have tried to get decent pictures in the fog, so far without success.
Picturit: I must say it is not easy at all, but I had time enough to practice wink, the totall day it gave heavy fog....thank you for your kind words.
Astrid.
There are so tall, protective... a cathedral of trees in the fog. Splendid.
Picturit: Yes they are Florence, in that area the trees are majestic...thans as always.

Wonderful image Astrid. The massive trees looming out of the fog make the human figure look so absolutely tiny.
Ingrid
Picturit: Ingrid, I was so lucky with that lady walking there, I am on that road a few times during the week, I did not dare to put the timer on and run over to stand there myself, too many cars come by....

I absolutely love this. The magnitude and height, and the solitary person. Those four twiggy trees are great. Ah lovely.
Picturit: Ruth, fog is magic to me, it makes the world so small, it has some mystery in it too, those trees are majestic, I once will make pictures when the sun is out and the sky is blue, I took Ginnie in this polder and I pointed out the trees which had been covered with frost....it is so great to be just out there, thank you for your kind words.
