Crocus

These little crocuses are in my front yard,

it is just amazing how early they bloom,

it is very windy and cold in the front of my house,

but these little ones never let me down,

I took this picture Tuesday the 22nd. of January and

NO I am not flat on my face in the front yard,

I do have neighbours.......

they always are afraid of missing something......

so I won't give them the pleasure to talk about me......

(not that I mind though)

flowers are always a welcome home to me…….

A fabulous thing to be welcomed home with. First of April or luckily end of March before crocuses bloom here.
Picturit: Mary, these little ones got me by surprise too, you will not believe it, but this night we had some snow, so now they really are in 'trouble' snow will not last long though, it is one big mess, it is NOT freezing and the sun is out, Astrid.
Oh...the first signs of spring!
Picturit: Chris it is, we might wait a little longer though before I do really believe it, it snowed last night, Astrid

Very crisp and I do like the black background.
Picturit: Thank you, I have a small brick 'wall' around my front yard, only 7 inches tall, I was taken this againts the sun, so the brown bricks became black, just coincidence, but I was happy with it, Astrid

YOUR flowers, Astrid, are a welcome to ME as we've just arrived home in Atlanta (it's still Friday night here). Wow. They sure make my day. And they seem so HUGE on this page! They were so small by comparison in your front yard when I saw them last week. It doesn't get much clearer and more beautiful than this!
Picturit: You are so welcome, flowers speak to the heart I always say, you should see them now, they are in messy wet snow, freezing their ..tt's off grin they have been growing last week, even in the backyard I saw a purple one, but spring is not coming yet wink, Astrid.

Very nice macro. Beautiful colors!
Picturit: Thanks Helen, I was down to the ground though to capture these, I was so lucky with a little sunshine here, Astrid
Astrid you have a winner here. And you have made a lot of people jealous. I love the look of the golden yellow against the dark background.
Picturit: Michael you know how to make me blush grin, thank you so much for your nice compliment, most appreciated! Astrid.
Very nice photo is this! The DoF in it is great!! You used good light and a nice contrast!
Picturit: Thanks Robbie, I saw these ones and the sun was out, so I had to give it a try, I came in as close as possible, the black is from a small 'muurtje 10 cm hoog' around my front yard, ( mijn vooruin is gewoon een postzegel zo groot, niets bijzonders grin ) Astrid

Well done Astrid!
I have also been wondering about the early blooming of the crocuses; well, there has been no frost at all this January... (Did I miss the snow-bells?)

Astrid this is a stunning shot.. The background disappears into the page and the contrast of the green, yellow & black works so well. Excellent dof. Gone to my likeys

January crocus. Wow. I love picturing your neighbors watching for their photog entertainer. smile

I love how the yellow glows against black.
Picturit: Ruth, sometimes I don't mind putting up a show for the neighbourhood grin, they know me already, but laying on the floor was too much for me, I have my ways of getting these pictures wink, Ginnie knows now too.....grin , the black was just a gift with it, I was aiming against the sunlight, the small brown brick wall colored black, just perfect, thanks Ruth, have a nice weekend, Astrid.

They are amazing little beauties. I'm glad you can look at them every day! Jan 22nd - we have too much snow to see flowers on the ground in a garden still..
Picturit: They were very early for us too, normally we have to wait untill mid Feb. for them to bloom, Astrid
Great and impressive, and so crisp!
Picturit: Thanks, the sun was helping here,
