C'est joli toutes ces gondoles. J'aime aussi les grandes maisons qui bordent le canal.
Picturit: The view from this bridge is wonderful, we are facing the direction of St. Marco Square, which is 'just' around the corner. Lots of rich family houses along this Grand Canal.

gobsmacked
Picturit: Thank you kindly, Ray. More to come next week.
Astrid.
I love this view! And your photo is so colorful and crisp!
Picturit: Thank you kindly, Elizabeth, it is a total different world from what we are used to.
Astrid.
We'll never-ever forget it, will we!!!
Picturit: No, this was a wonderful experience, it is an unique city.

The real selling point for Venice must be its uniqueness Astrid. This picture could have been taken nowhere else, not Droitwich, Bath or even Gorinchem..
Picturit: This is unique in every way. Even the ambulances are boats, everything goes by waterways and the grand houses at the canals, breathtaking... what a city, but never visit it in high season!!
Astrid.
Une photo très pittoresque qui donnerait des envies de vacances , Merci
Picturit: Indeed we had a great vacation, we saw a lot and beyond that. A very unique city.
Astrid.
Droitwich has a canal but there the resemblance ends Lady P. A fine picture
Picturit: Thank you, Bill. I think there is not another city like Venice, so unique. Have fun with comrade Trim, take warm clothes.
Astrid.
Who could not recognise this scene Astrid, I can just imagine you both standing here.
Picturit: We stood there and we enjoyed... it is on view 'you have to see' when you are in Venice.
Have fun at comrade Trim next week, take warm clothes.

This is a wonderful image of the busy life on the Canal Grande!
Picturit: It is a wonderful view and you have a good vision on what is going on there.
Astrid.
It certainly looks it's age here.
Picturit: It is old and sometimes embarrassing after a close look how some places are almost fallen apart...but then all the water around it does not make things better.
Astrid.
There's so much to see isn't there, those buildings must be very, very old.
Picturit: These are very very old and some tell their age. But then I think all the water around does not make it any better too.
Astrid.
such a beautiful sight of the canal with all of the gondolas lined up on the right shore...
i like your bistro behind the blue and green striped pole....petersmile
Picturit: This is a wonderful view and I think as a tourist 'you have to be' on this bridge even if it is only once. My kitchen has all the Italian specialties on the menu wink
Astrid.
Lovely shot,Astrid, a place I would love to visit.
Picturit: Never say never, maybe a second honeymoon?? Thank you, Frank.

This picture is so painting-like. Excellent. I think I have eaten in the Astrid restaurant. Likey.
Picturit: Thank you for the likey. Tom Wilson said it reminded him of Canaletto.
I hope you enjoyed dinner...

Astrid.
Certainly reminds one of Canaletto!
Picturit: I googled Canaletto, what an amazing artist this is...
Thank you, Tom.
Astrid.
I like the architecture of the buildings... I think I will have lunch at Astrid's...
Picturit: Thank you, Larry and we welcome you for lunch... the kithchen is quite good I heard.
Astrid.
i suppose you headed down to bistro Astrid after that shot smile a very signature shot from Venice.
Picturit: We had a table reserved for two.... and we had spaghetti carbonara...
Thank you kindly, Ayush.

What a fabulous view!
Picturit: Thank you, Cherry.
I loved those houses up against the water. Wouldn't want to live there based on what all is happening with the water levels...but definitely a beautiful image to behold!
Picturit: Venice is beautiful, but on a closer look I could tell the havoc the water is to the building, now it even was low water, many times the city is flooded... I think there is too much water around to have a good condition for houses and people.
